About this mod

A small mod to do away (at least visually) with the ammo packs on the Minigun, Gatling Laser, Grenade Machinegun, Mercy and CZ57 Avenger.

Permissions and credits
This is the first mod I have ever uploaded to the Nexus. Originally I just put this together for myself but I wanted to make it available to others who shared my dislike of the ammo packs after I could not find one for all of the weapons I was using.

===================================================================================================================
Threw this together because I was sick of those backpacks on some of my favorite heavy weapons: The gatling laser,
minigun, grenade machinegun, Mercy, and CZ57 Avenger. There were other mods out there to remove the packs from a couple
of these weapons but I could not find one that got rid of them all at once or individually so I decided to make my own.

-The .esp simply unchecks the hide backpack option on the above weapons to allow other backpack items to show. No other
stats were changed for the weapons and unchecking that box does not hide the actual ammo packs for the gun.

-The packs themselves were hidden by replacing the texture (.dds) files with blank (transparent) textures for all of the
vanilla backpacks for the above weapons. I went with this solution due to my limited ability to edit meshes which I have
less understanding of. The backpacks are still technically there, just not visible.

-The only exception is the CZ57 Avenger whose backpack I could not seem to remove with that method so I resorted to the
somewhat riskier solution of taking a somewhat wild guess what to delete in the mesh (and it seems to have worked).

-I did NOT change the Flamer since the weapon looks kinda silly with no tank in my opinion so I will leave it to someone
with more modding skills than I to create a flamer with a smaller attached tank to replace it (if that has not already been done?).

FLAMER UPDATE: As mentioned by eLucifer, the modded Meshes and Textures for a packless flamer already exist. Since the paths for the Flamer meshes have not changed since FO3, then the FO3 meshes and textures from Alexscorpions Tankless Flamer (located at http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=9872) will still work for FNV. I have uploaded an optional .esp to disable the hide backpack option and the alternate model pathing for the FNV flamer when using expanded tanks so you can use the meshes and textures from that mod for FNV to achieve a packless flamer. See the included readme with the Packless Flamer ESP for further details.

<installation>
==================================================================================================================
1.) There is definitely room to thin down and remove unnecessary files should someone more knowledgeable wish to make this less likely to cause a conflict with other mods.

</possible></uninstallation></installation>
