    I've got a friend or two that are running ECITY and REQUIEM together. Let me ask them if they have any insight... but, not to be disrespectful to REQUIEM, I won't be installing it anytime soon. I admit, I am hugely curious - and I loved FO3 to the point of fanaticism - but I've got a bit of a full-plate these days.

    Thanks for the quick response. I just tried doing what you said. I removed the load screen branch in FNVEDIT completely but still having the same issue after removing the files from the data folder.

    If you're using REQUIEM FOR THE CAPITAL WASTELAND, I've heard that the ECITY loading screens may cause a problem (no idea why).

    The load screens reside in:


    In there, you will find 3 files marked EC_LOADSCREEN_somethingorother.DDS

    Remove them and they're gone.

    Now... IF you continue to have the problem, it'll be because the MOD has redirected some load-screens to these custom ones (rather than replacing vanilla DDSs, I went this way).

    So, if you find you have to do away with all instances of them, go into FNVEDIT.

    In the COMPLETED WORKORDERS.ESM you will see the 3 instances in LOAD-SCREEN. Delete 'em and there you go.

    There are no load screens baked into HIGHWAYS AND BYWAYS.

    If, for some reason, you want to keep seeing them, you can rename them and replace the vanilla ones... but that's a hassle.

    Same issue as arctic. With just Requiem, vegas, and electrocity loaded, the NCR Ranger shows up, but none of the main menu options.

    I too am having a problem with getting ELECTRO-CITY to work. I know it's only Electro-city, because if I uncheck it from FOMM and leave everything else up, FNV runs just fine.

    The game gets stuck at the loading intro scene. Freezing at the point when the Ranger backdrop comes into view.

    Maybe my load order is screwed up? Or something else I don't know about? It wouldn't surprise me...

    Given that I've heard nothing back from you fine folks, I can only conclude that the shift to ESMs was a smashing success or that you gave up.

    For now then, let's call this issue closed.

    People, please use the ESM version.

    (I know Electro-city should be at the bottom but the other mods have been added since i stopped using it.

    I'll try some of the methods you suggest when i get home, if it starts to work I'll try grouping it with some other mods and see if i cant find a conflict.

    Hello Gents!

    Sorry for the delay, but I didn't notice that anyone had added a DISCUSSION. I'd prefer it if you didn't in the future so that everyone in the rather active COMMENTS thread can also chime in.

    So, here's my first thing:

    Electro-City is not unstable.

    You are most likely experiencing conflicts with other mods, bad load-orders, improperly tweaked INIs, slower systems, too many mods, I dunno.

    I'm not trying to be defensive, but that's 99% of the problems 99% of the time.

    however, I'd like to thank you for bringing the issue to my attention rather than just hitting the negative endorse. Your time helping me troubleshoot is appreciated. Given that there are a few of you reporting the same issue, it leads me to conclude - initially - that you may all be using the 'same-thing'.

    Simply removing EC and no longer crashing does not 100% conclude that EC is at fault, just that it may be involved. Although it is a compelling argument, the logic there is flawed because you're likely running off of save-games. Unless you've played with ONLY EC and still had these problems, we need to determine what it may be 'involved with'.

    I'm committed to trying to get to the bottom of this, but I experience NONE of these issues (nor do most, I assume) so we need to figure out what's exclusive to your setup(s).

    As you can imagine, it's nearly impossible to be compatible with EVERY mod and EVERY system and EVERY load-order, so... hahah... I'm gonna take some guesses.

    First, I do have to say that I've not experienced anything like this, although, based on another discussion that I just noticed, there are at least four of you that are.

    EC is a pretty huge mod and probably covers some of the same ground as other mods... but on it's own, it's stable (and it has been fine with the mods in my load-order below).

    I've logged 100s of hours on it so I'm pretty confident in that. I also play with a bunch of other mods, but I don't overdo it.

    Which leads me to ask these questions in hopes of finding the answer to the problem:

    1 - Did ANY of you try the CLEAN SAVE method (it's described in the readme and the description page)? That seems to reset EC nicely and has apparently solved most problems.

    2 - Did any of you play the game with ONLY EC installed NOT from a previous save game? In other words, a save game with no mods installed.

    3 - Did you install ANY mods AFTER you installed EC?

    4 - Did you update EC? If so, from what version to what version?

    5 - Did any of you try MASTERUPDATING or making a MERGEDPATCH?

    6 - I'm gonna need your load-order plz. Post them here and let's look for similarities. Also, plz highlight mods that both of us have in common. If we get all four of your LOADORDERS and eliminate the mods I'm using, perhaps that will help point me in the direction of mods that might be conflicting.

    This is my completely functioning LOAD ORDER as of 10 minutes ago. Please cross-check it with your LOAD ORDERS and let me know what mods you're using that I am not. Perhaps in that way, we can narrow it down some.

    Also, CABOOSENOR, for the record, I did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to 'fix' a crash with NOVAC in this or any version.

    Again, not trying to be defensive, but it leads me to conclude that the crash was beyond EC and rather (at least) in tandem with something else that 'happened' on your system.

    NOVAC is a vanilla problem, as described on the description page, so you're not alone with that.

    At the end of all of this I hope we'll come to some kind of resolvable conclusion.

    I'm also going to convert ELECTRO-CITY to ESM status. I'm told that often helps resolve issues with other mods... that'll be a day or so while I play-test it.

    In the last version of Electro-City there was a crash in Novac. You apparently fixed that with the new version, but there are still places where it crashes (inside a shack in the vicinity of your Electro-City HQ for example).

    May I suggest giving us the option to install just the lights and not the engineers and all that? It could be the reason for the crashes.

    I know 100% for sure that it was your mod that was causing the crashes, because I tested every mod I had installed, and only Electro-City caused CTD. It is unstable. I would really appreciate if you made a version without all the stuff that isn't strictly necessary to get better lighting.

    I was just on my way over here to report the EXACT same bug. Can't seem to save while using Electro City. The weird part is that it'll let you play a few times, and save just fine. However once the issue starts it happens every time,all the time.
