UPDATED 23 november 2010 (see CHANGELOG for details)
============================================
Current version BETA 1.1 - no known bugs, only need
feedback before final version.
This mod is part of the New Vegas Redux pack
============================================

INTRO
============================================

Vanilla fallout combat is a bit like tearing down a brick wall with a small hammer - you'll get there eventually, but it'll take forever. Tired of waiting ? Feel like you could have a quick cup of coffee before that coyote manages to chew through your armor ? Tired of lugging around 120 pounds of ammo to take down one Supermutant ?

The solution is here ! Simply install this RobCco* patented "High-Lethality Mod" into your Fallout NV, and enjoy fast-paced, teeth-clenching, adrenaline-fueled fighting !

* not affiliated with the RobCo company

IMPORTANT !!!!
============================================
On this type of mod, your feedback is more important than ever. There are too many parametres to a fight to test every single case, so PLEASE report bugs and your overall feeling on the mod !!!

DESCRIPTION
============================================

The aim of this mod to make the basic, vanilla, RPG-FPS game more intense, and eliminate the immersion-breaking moments where you stand toe-to-toe with a Legion Centurion emptying magazines after magazines at point blank until he dies. See the images to get a feel for the new damage output.

High-lethality combat - "This ain't Kansas anymore"
- Very simply, every damage dealt after armor is doubled. This is done without changing weapon data or creature data, so should be compatible with many mods and does not suffer from any inconsistencies
- Limb damage is lower than torso damage. Killing someone by shooting its leg repeatedly isn't a sound combat combat tactic. Thanks to [yatzee] for the suggestion.
- WARNING ! Player damage is doubled as well. As I said, shorter and deadlier fights.

High-consequences wounds - "Aim for the legs"
- Increased all penalties for crippled limbs. Disabling an enemy is now a valid and efficient combat option
- limbs cripple easier. Does't take a dozen high-caliber round to make an arm unusable

Creature-specific weaknesses - "Know your enemy"
- All creatures have been rebalanced, some with with race-specific structural weaknesses. After all, blowing the arm of a robot isn't going to make him suffer much.

WHAT THIS MOD IS NOT
============================================
There seems to be some confusion, so I'll list here what NOT to expect from this mod :
- This mod is NOT a realism mod :
Realistically, everyone would have the same number of hitpoints, damage should rely a lot on chance depending on the point of impact, and you could be killed by being punched in the head by a drunk. Not only is Fallout NV badly suited to this kind of simulation, I wouldn't have fun playing it, so I'm not modding it. Sorry guys, but feel free to use this mod as a base and modify the numbers to suit your taste. And release it, so other people can benefit :)
- This mod is NOT a one-shot-one-kill mod :
One-shot kills can happen, and they will happen more often than in the vanilla game, but they still depend on the well-know size-of-gun/level-of-ennemy ratio. Shooting someone with a .22, even in the head, won't kill her. Unless you're sneaking and using hollowpoints.
- This mod is PARTLY a FPS mod :
Using it will make combat more dynamic and stressful, which are qualities of traditional FPS games. But I haven't changed any of the base game mechanism, which means that your accuracy depends on both personnal and character skills, it takes twice the amount of bullets to kill someone than it would in a FPS, and ennemies gain hit points when they level. So, if you're shooting a deathclaw with a 9mm, expect to pump hundreds of rounds into it before it falls.
