Version 2.0 is out, with DLC optionals! Check description bellow.

I'm a realistic damage addict, I can't help it. I can't stop thinking of ways to make this mod better, and I actually thought about something. Aside from the advantage of tweaking bpd to raise damage as writen in the description, there's something else that stands out. It's something so simple, yet I overlooked it completely. Each type of creature has it's own bpd, so I could just make the multipliers differently! WTH!

This could help with the balance break that this mod brings with its otherwise awesome features. Supermutties should not die as easily as humans, yet the numbers I used were the same! Ofc, mutties have more health, but with the high multipliers I used, it didn't matter that much. How insensible of me!

So, after this little rant, I tell you know that I'm going to release a new version of this mod. I'll do some math to make the mod as reasonable and balanced and deadly and awesome as possible. The game will flow like you would never have imagined. You will see ;D

I'm a little busy with Skyrim now (it's so awesome), so the new version will not be released so soon, but not so late either.

Thanks for everyone who endorsed, downloaded and provided feedback, and keep 'em coming!

INTRO
======
I really think that should be more differences between differents parts of the body, human or not, AND, combat should be more deadly, so, here's my creation =D

WHY BODYPART DATA?
===================
I think bodypart data is the best way to change damage in game. If you try to raise the global damage variable or the skill dmg multiplier, you will end up breaking armor balance. By modifying bodypart data, you don't have this problem, cause the dmg only gets multiplied by the bodypart multiplier after being calculated by the DT. Quick example: you wear an armor that gives you 10 DT and take 12 dmg to the head (default version - head multiplier 5x). First, the DT hold off the damage, 12-10=2, then 2 dmg bypass the armor and gets multiplied by the bodypart multiplier, 5*2=10. You took 10 dmg.

DETAILS VERSION 2.0
=======================
Ok guys, here we go. The reasoning behind this version is simple. Humans should take one shot to the head to die (even though the courier didn't, well, guess it was a(n) (un)lucky shot). Supermutants? Well, at least 4 shots to the head, this mod follows this logic, at least. So, what did I do? I did some math! Yay, math was useful, at last ;9 I used as a global paramater the weakest firearm in the game, the silenced pistol (9 damage), that is. So, since I talked about our friend supermutant earlier, let's use him as our test subject. In my logic and lore, supermutants should take 4 shots to the head to die and 12 shots to the torso to die. That is, with the weakest firearm, after all, even though it's weak, it's a firearm, and should be respected as
one. So, knowing this, I took the LOWEST health a supermutant can have (that I've found), that would be 100 hp.
Math: 100/4 (health/shots) = 25hp per shot. But our silenced pistol has only 9 dmg. So the multiplier must be
25/9=2.7 . So the head multiplier for supermutants is 2.7. That's it!

Important notes
-------------------------
-A stronger supermutant sharing the same bodypart data will take more of a beating, of course (preserving the rpg aspect of having more health). Some goes to any other creature/enemy.
-DT was not taken into account for all this math, so armor will be important (preserving more rpg aspects).
-Only head and torso multiplier were taken into account, other bpds were unchanged.
-This mod gets rid of the "how to increase difficulty? let's raise health!" way.
-So, this was my way of mixing FPS and RPG for New Vegas. Trying to preserve the RPG aspect of investing SPECIAL points in endurance, having good armor, playing like a melee/unarmed character (well, this need some testing) etc, but without making combat dull and boring, since new vegas is an action-based rpg, not a turn-based one. Is the mod perfect? Of course not, and that's where you guys come in. Have any ideas for improving the
mod? Please, do tell me, I'll definetly consider your suggestion, and probably will modify the mod, if it's VERY reasonable. Alternatively, if you don't have any GECK or FNVEdit knowledge, I might as well send you a tailor made version of the mod via e-mail (send your e-mail via pm, but please, know that I don't have all the time in the world =) ). I sincerely hope you guys enjoy it, cause I sure will BD

Recomended with this:
------------------------------------
-My mod, health balance, which will get an update.
-True DT (bellow, at recommended mods), any you like. I prefer 5% =)
-I mod that makes AI a little smarter and tactical.

Install Intructions:
----------------------------
Activate only the files you will use. For example, if you don't have Dead Money, don't use the Dead Money version, else the game will CTD.
Just drop the files in the data folder, or use the manager of your choice, I recommend NMM =)

DETAILS
========
I went tru ALL the bodypart data in the game, player, default and ALL creatures. I will not list every single change, sorry about that, but I will give you all the info you need. The philosofy was, lemme give u an example. Damage done to arm (1x) should not be the same as damage to torso, which is in vanilla game, but I did want to make combat deadlier, so, instead lowering arm multiplier, I raised the torso =) . Please, look below for more detailed changes.

Humans
-------
All humanoid creatures now receive the following dmg.
Arms - 1x
Legs - 2x
Torso - 3x
Head - 5x (Headshots now are HEADSHOTS)

Please understand that these changes also includes you, so, watch your head.

Creatures n etc.
-----------------
I'll give you the general changes, the philosofy I used.

Generally, all enemies that HAVE head (radscorpions don't .-.) receive 5x dmg to it, the exception are the ones that originally received 1.5x dmg now receive 4x, assuming they're heads are more resilient. Brahmin receives 3x dmg each head

Robots receive 1x dmg to their parts ("legs", sensors etc); animals that walk on four legs receive 2x dmg each leg.

ALL creatures that have a torso (I guess everyone does =) ) receive 3x dmg to it

Critters with wings receive 2x dmg to it

THE FLAVORS
============
Default Version - As in the description. I played quite a long time with this version, and I must say, vanilla should be like that. The game/combat went so well that after some time I didn't even know that the mod was on. Combat gets deadlier to the point that it should be in vanilla game (imo). Bodyparts are well different in this mod.

Light Version - ~half of the default values. If you think default version is too much, try this =) And if even then you think light version is too much, you are better off with vanilla values. Quite less differenciation between parts, but still more than vanilla.

Harsher Version - For those who, like me, think that the default version should be the vanilla, and want things more interesting =) All values of default version are multiplied by 2 (so 10x dmg to head, 6x dmg to the torso, etc). Bigger differenton between parts.

Extreme Version - For those who are simply extreme, this version will take damage to the edge, multiplies the default version values by 3 (15x head, 9x torso, etc). With this version, you will probably find out what realistic damage is all about. Use with caution =P This version makes the parts more different than any other.

IMPORTANT: Remember, this values apply to you as well, so with more dmg you will take down foes with ease, but you will be taken down as easily.

RECOMMENDED WITH THIS
======================
I strongly recommend Closer To Fallout - True Threshold ( http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34872 ), a mod that makes you take no dmg at all if your DT or the enemie's completly negates the dmg taken. Lemme explain: in vanilla game, if you take 10 dmg, but have 20DT, a small amount of the dmg taken will bypass the DT, no matter what. So, in that situation, you would take 1~2 dmg. Imagine this with my extreme version on, 15~30 dmg if the shot was to the head. With True Threslhold, you wouldnt take dmg at all. Imagine the scene, you wear a PA, and simply don't take dmg from a guy with a 9mm. You take the PA out, and die with 1~2 shots. Ahh, that's more like it, dont you think? =)

I would suggest a mod that makes you slower with heavy armor or something, cause this will make heavy armor way more important, and nobody would use lightys anymore. =|

SUGGESTION
===========
If you are raising dmg, why not make health values more fair as well? If you want, take a look at my mod, Health Balance =)
