Major update:
- This mod works differently now. Instead of each gear pack having it's own .esp file, this whole mod is contained in a single .esp. You will be able to choose you gear pack while talking to Doc Mitchell.

The function of this mod is similar to that of the preorder DLC packs - it provides better-than-vanilla weapons or armor at the start of the game.

There are serveral options to choose from, each focusing on a specific skill set. Only one option will work for a single character.

After digging around in the GECK, I found some fun leftovers from Fallout 3 had made it into the New Vegas .esm, like Eulogy Jones' zoot suit, the Tunnel Snake outfit, and the Red Racer Jumpsuit, so I kind of went crazy and now there are 19 different starting gear packs.

This mod does not include any new content, but there are a few unique or hard-to-find items included. (A few items have been renamed, e.g. Eulogy Jones' Outfit is now name Pimpin' Zoot Suit.)



Why?



It made sense to wear a Vault Suit at the beginning of Fallout 3. At the beginning of FNV it makes more sense to wear just about anything else, in my opinion.

Also, this mod allows you to play as a Bounty Hunter or a Ninja. Come on!



How it works:



You will select and recieve you gear pack just before you leave Doc Mitchell's house for the first time. After you receive your pip boy, Doc Mitchell will ask what kind of work you do besides delivering platinum chips. Your reply will determine what items you receive.

In most cases, some the new gear will be automatically equipped.

This mod does not affect the other gear you get at the beginning of the game. For example, Doc Mitchell will still give you a laser pistol if you selected Energy Weapons as one of your tag skills.

Several of the gear packs include weapon mods. Remember to upgrade your weapons!



How to install:



- Extract StartingGearPacks.esp into the New Vegas "Data" folder.
- Start the New Vegas Launcher and open the Data Files window.
- In the Data Files window, check the checkbox next to the StartingGearPacks.esp file.



How to uninstall:



Uncheck StartingGearPacks.esp in the Data Files window.
Delete StartingGearPacks.esp from
