Love this mod, super awesome. Something is broken for me though (surprising I know, since I'm commenting, lol) Whenever I use it, I stay at my last highest point in space. As in, if I use it at the top of a mountain, I fly high in the sky. If I use it on a road, I stay on the road until I hit a bump, which makes me go a little higher and stay higher. If I go up a slope, I do not then go down the slope, I fly all over the wasteland. It's fun, do not get me wrong, but I''m not sure that was the intent.
I'm pretty sure updates to NVSE caused this. The hoverboard never functioned like that for me prior to xNVSE coming out. Since using xNVSE it behaves as you stated, with regular nvse I remember the hoverboard constantly losing elevation originally instead of staying at the same level when flying around
i have run out of power and i cannot repair this thing. I have the req Science(well over 60), The Jury Rigging Perk plus 2 plasma rifles and a butt load of fission batts. What am i doing wrong?
This would be awesome if it didn't crash (the game) so much. If it could just be made to catch whatever failure state causes that and crash (the board) instead it would be about perfect. Falling off occasionally would be fine, but restarting the game as often as I had really isn't okay. It's true that it works fine on completely flat terrain, but in post-apocalyptic Nevada that can be hard to come by. Even roads are not necessarily safe in my experience.
It comes down to the game engine really not being meant to do any of this. The board fires a "gun" at a bunch of invisible objects to detect terrain, moving those between cells was a hell of an ordeal to script. I'll have a look and see if I can pinpoint any issues, but I've tested it pretty thoroughly myself and never had this problem.
If your game runs *too fast* that might actually be an issue, maybe there's a way to clamp it to 60 fps.
As I recall, those checks get easier if you talk to Aslak about the board before murdering him. You can also circumvent them with a high enough Repair I believe. I'll have a look and see if the skillcheck does work correctly.
