-Quickly added Fame/Infamy Rewards for the NCR Trooper, Escaped Legion Slave, Brotherhood, and Follower backgrounds. They appear after leaving Goodsprings.

-Rebuilt mod from scratch.

-Altered the bonuses from most of the backgrounds.

-Backgrounds can now be reselected when the option to rebuild your character appears as leaving Goodsprings. The background menu only shows up AFTER you leave the character rebuild menu (select Travel Onward) IF you actually changed your character (not just your name).

- All backgrounds EXCEPT the default courier come with a -5% XP penalty (for balance)
- The unique weapons for each background have changed slightly
- Removed the power armor from the Brotherhood background and replaced it with a unique laser rifle.

v1.1 - Streamlined Menus (more modular for future updates, confirms selection).
- UNKNOWN background now requires that the player has the Wild Wasteland trait (moved to be a bit more lore-friendly).

Installation
------------

Drop the esp file into your Fallout New Vegas DATA folder, commonly found at:

\steam\steamapps\common\fallout new vegas\data

Enable "CharacterBackgrounds.esp" in the Data Files option of the Fallout New Vegas launcher or Mod Manager launcher.

Un-Installation
---------------

Simply delete "CharacterBackgrounds.esp" from above folder.

Note that if you load a save that has perks awarded by this file, you may experience a crash.

Future Plans
------------

Will add an adjustment to faction reputations for each background.

Will possibly add other backgrounds, trying to think of other factions that fit the canon (with the exception of ????? below). Current idea is a set of 2-3 backgrounds related to each DLC. For example: Scavenger, Treasure Hunter, & Cipher for Dead Money.

Backgrounds
-----------

0. Default Courier - Your past is mostly unknown. This is the default courier of Fallout: New Vegas and receives no bonus skills, perks, or items. By the same token, they also don't receive the -5% XP penalty the other backgrounds receive.

1. Wastelander - An experienced inhabitant of the Mojave Wasteland, you have a boost to your poison and rad resistance as well as a +5 to Survival, Guns, and Barter. You also start with your Trusty Varmint Rifle that never jams.

2. NCR Trooper - Your years of service to the NCR army has given you increased damage with rifles as well as a +10 to Guns and +5 to Explosives. You also start with your Customized Service Rifle.

3. Former Slave - Your years of servitude to the Legion, and your brave escape, has given you a +25 to your carry weight, a +10 to Sneak, and a +5 to Survival. You also start with the Rusty Machete you used to make your escape and 50 stolen Legion coins.

4. Brotherhood Exile - Your father was cast from the Brotherhood for consulting Outsiders regarding a prototype laser rifle he found. His teachings have given you a +5 to Repair, Science, and Energy Weapons. Also, due to proper care, your items decay 10% slower and you start with the same Prototype Laser Rifle.

5. Follower of the Apocalypse - You served with the Followers for a while, but left in the hopes of helping more of the wasteland. Your training gives you a +10 to Medicine, a +5 to Speech, and a 10% reduction in limb damage. You start with extra medical supplies and the Jury-Rigged Cattle Prod that was your only means of defense.

6. Tribal - Your tribe has hunted and lived in the wasteland for many generations. Your tribal knowledge gives you +10 to Melee Weapons, a +5 to Survival, and a +10% critical hit damage against animals and insects. You start with 12 Throwing Spears and your Dad's Knife.

7. ????? - You'll have to try it to find out. (PROBABLY OVERPOWERED)
