1. DESCRIPTION
===============

In Fallout New Vegas, Weapon Repair Kits allow you to repair your currently equipped weapon by a certain percentage (based on your Repair skill). Armour Repair Kits do the same thing, but for your currently equipped armour; simple as that. This mod also adds the ability to break both Weapon and Armour Repair Kits down into their base components.

This mod requires New Vegas Script Extender (NVSE) - see the Installation/Uninstallation section below for more information.

See the 'Playing the mod' section below for more information on using this mod.

===============
2. Requirements
===============

- Fallout New Vegas
- New Vegas Script Extender (NVSE) v1.0 Beta 1 or above

========================
3. INSTALLATION/UNINSTALLATION
========================

Installation:

- If you have not already done so, download and install NVSE (http://nvse.silverlock.org). Be sure to read and follow the NVSE documentation *closely*.
- Using 7-Zip (http://www.7-zip.org), extract the contents of the ArmourRepairKits.7z archive file to your Steamsteamappscommonfallout new vegasData directory.
- In the Data Files section of the Fallout New Vegas Launcher - or using a mod manager tool - place a tick in the box next to ArmourRepairKits.esp.

Upgrading from an earlier version:

- Simply follow the installation instructions above, overwriting existing files.
- Load your save-game and continue playing: no other steps required.

Uninstallation:

- In the Data Files section of the Fallout New Vegas Launcher - or using a mod manager tool - clear the tick in the box next to ArmourRepairKits.esp.
- If desired, delete all files copied to your Steamsteamappscommonfallout new vegasData directory during installation (check the ArmourRepairKits.7z archive file to identify these files).

=====================
4. PLAYING THE MOD
=====================

Each Armour Repair Kit is used from the Aid section of the Pip-Boy - in the same fashion as a Weapon Repair Kit - and repairs the most damaged piece of clothing/armour you currently have equipped by the following percentages based on your Repair skill (these values are the same as for the Weapon Repair Kit):

00-24 Repair - 10%
25-49 Repair - 15%
50-74 Repair - 20%
75-99 Repair - 25%
>=100 Repair - 30%

Crafting Armour Repair Kits is similar to crafting Weapon Repair Kits; it is done at a workbench, and requires a Repair skill of at least 50. The components are as follows:

Duct tape (1)
Hammer (1)
Leather Belt (1)
Scrap Metal (2)
Wonderglue (1)

(In other words, similar components to a Weapon Repair Kit; just a leather belt instead of scrap electronics, and a hammer instead of the wrench.)

You can break Weapon and Armour Repair Kits down into their base components at a workbench (requires a Repair skill of at least 50). This is useful if you need parts from a Weapon Repair Kit to construct an Armour Repair Kit - or vice-versa.

This mod adds Armour Repair Kits (and hammers) to appropriate vendor 'leveled lists' by script, so you should be able to buy them at merchants. Note that their inventories may need to respawn first.

5. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
===============

Q) I'm getting the 'NVSE Not Detected' message in-game when I try to use an Armour Repair Kit. What do I do?
A) As noted in the message, you'll need to download and install NVSE. See the Installation instructions above for more information.

Q) I'm having trouble with NVSE. Can you help me?
A) No - I am not part of the NVSE team; you'll need to contact them regarding issues with NVSE.

Q) What do I do with the file I downloaded? It's an unknown file type/I don't know what to do with 7z files.
A) You need a program like 7-zip (http://www.7-zip.org) or WinRAR (http://www.rarlab.com) to open the file you downloaded. After you have that, follow the installation instructions above.

Q) Don't you think that being able to repair (insert item here) with an Armour Repair Kit is unrealistic?
A) In computer games, many things (almost everything, usually) are abstracted to serve gameplay; and this is one of those things. For the sake of comparison, *all* weapons in New Vegas - no matter what they're made of - can be repaired using a Weapon Repair Kit; from a baseball bat, to a knife, to an assault rifle, to a missile launcher, to a plasma rifle.

Q) Will you tell me how to cheat to get the items added by this mod so I don't have to purchase them?
A) There are console commands to give your character any items you want; and with a bit of research I'm sure you'll work it out. I'm not going to actively help people to cheat at my mod though: it goes against the intended design of the mod.
