About this mod

Three small mods that fix your Chinese Stealth Armor in different ways, depending on your playstyle. Regular players can add a F3-style stealth effect to the vanilla suits, role players can \"fix\" damaged suits through new crafting recipes, and power gamers have easy access to suits for early-game dominance.

Permissions and credits
Remember how ringading those suits of Chinese Stealth Armor were back in Fallout 3? Remember how happy you were when you found a couple suits in New Vegas, then how crushed you were when you realized they DIDN'T make you an invisible agent of death anymore? Boy, I sure do. Well, great news! Here are three tiny mods for those of us who want the old stealth-field generating Chinese Stealth Armor back. All three are included in just one zip, but USE ONLY ONE for optimal results. Also note that the stealth fields are only about half as powerful as that generated by a Stealth Boy; you're not completely invisible, so sinking some points into Sneak is still helpful.

Again, USE ONLY ONE.

None are very complicated, but each version has slightly different features and is geared towards certain play styles, as follows:

UPDATE!!!!!!!!
A brand new, GREATLY expanded version of Type 3 has just reached a beta phase. Building on the theme of crafting stealth armor, it adds stealthy medium and power armors as well as an unmarked quest for role players.

Like this mod here, I've also included some stripped down versions for players who don't feel like bothering with all the immersion nonsense. It should work fine with saves using Type 3; Type 1 and 2 users might have some issues getting their default CSA to go stealthy, but the Quickstart version will hook you up with all the stealth you need and more. I'd recommend disabling any Hei Gui Fixed Armor mods should you choose to upgrade to Project AEGIS.

TYPE 1: "Perfect for folks who've already got a pair; just slap on the mod and GO!"

For players who want a no-BS vanilla experience. The locations of the CSAs are not changed from the base game, but they will now generated stealth fields while sneaking.

TYPE 2: "Hoover Dam, Shmoover Dam, I get MY kicks in Sunny Goodsprings!!!"

For players who just want the suits. Adds a small chest containing 2 new updated CSAs just to the west of the game's starting location.

TYPE 3: "Wife nagging you to get off the couch and collect more Stealth Boy units? Now, you've got a reason to!"

For players who want a bit more ingame immersion. The default CSAs are left unchanged and will NOT generate a stealth field when worn; however, a crafting recipe can be found in the same container as the suits, allowing you to fix the armor's damaged stealth-field units at a Workbench. Each upgraded Hei Gui Stealth Armor suit requires 8 stealth boys, 2 fission batteries, 5 scrap electronics, and 1 unmodified CSA to craft, with a Science skill requirement of 80.

Type3 MiniFAQ:
Q: How do I get the upgraded armor?
A: Grab the Recipe and it should show up in your Workbench crafting menu, under the name "Hei Gui Stealth Armor".
Q: Where can I find the recipe?
A: The Hoover Dam Office level, in the same container you got your CSA suits from. Got them already? Go back and check again. Haven't got the Chinese Stealth Armor yet? Find them, and you'll find your recipe.
Q: What are the stats like?
A: Virtually identical to the CSA, the only difference is its ability to produce a stealth field.
Q: Can I repair the upgraded Hei Gui armor?
A: It uses the same repair list as conventional CSA.
Q: Any plans for a new one?
A: I'm working on an armored 99Zulu combat stealth suit, for cats who want a real hep alternative to power armor. It's bigger, longer, and currently involves a rather annoying high-level quest just to unlock the recipe; no ETA yet.
Q: The recipe holodisk is presumably in Chinese, right? So how can the Courier, who grew up in America, understand the language?
A: Shut up.

INSTALLATION NOTES:
Simple as can be. Simply drop whichever mod you want in your Data folder, select it in the Launcher, and boom goes the dynamite.

Once again, USE ONLY ONE VERSION at a time. I can not stress this enough.

About the Author: In case you care! I love modding; I've been modding Bethesda-engine games since Morrowind. I won't claim to be an expert, and up till now, it's been strictly personal use stuff. I originally intended for this mod to be personal use, too, but I figured it was simple enough, handy enough, and most importantly, clean enough to release to the general public for a change. Hope you find it as helpful as I do!

Special Thanks to: Nuka-Cola, Robco Industries, and every Commie commando who was just a little bit too slow on the trigger.

Modders! Feel free to use anything in these mods to your heart's content! Just give me a shoutout to maintain positive karma, dig?
