Well, I only ever mod manually (and use the GOG version) so in some ways I'm the wrong person to answer - however, I seem to read of Vortex issues more than I do of issues with other mod managers, so you might want to explore another mod manager. When I mod manually I then use FOMM just for the activating and deactivating of FO3 and FNV mods. Good luck with things.
Something went wrong. I have the skilled perk and like 90% faster or something and was working at the start then somehow i got to -200xp and it's slowly going down but my last quest gave me like 900xp and hardly went down.
Edit: I used player.rewardxp [amount] to get my xp to a normal level then i got my 900xp and it only went to half when at lvl 11.
Works perfectly in TTW - not relevant if you're just using TTW to play FO3 in the NV engine, but virtually a "must have" if you plan on playing through both wastelands otherwise you're already a high level behemoth by the time you get to the Mojave and will prob find it way too easy.
I'm just using the slower levelling speed and not the optional rewards files. Based on reading earlier comments, I went with a 4x slower speed because I planned doing both wastelands & dlc, and a couple of extras like Alton. I'm maybe 25% through right now but finding it just a little bit of a drag and think the 3x or 3.5x slower option would be "better", at least for me. Endorsed.
Update 11th Sept: so I switched to 3x slower. I waited til just passing my next level (it was somewhere around level 16 to 18), then initially switched to the 3.5 slower esp. Then just after reaching the next level after that, I switched down again, to the 3x slower one. Everything was ok - I did it in two stages just in case jumping down too far messed up the levelling-up triggers. At this rate I think I'll be around level 25 once I've done most things at the DC end (inc AWOP, Interiors, and all the dlc). Which seems about right for a character aiming to do mostly everything in both wastelands, their dlc, and a few other added bits like Alton etc.
Update 13th Sept: So on TTW's website RoyBatty tells me this mod "breaks things in NV" - so be aware of that I guess. However, his very brief statement doesn't say how or what exactly is the issue, and I'm 312 game hours into using this mod and not yet noticed any problem with it.
I'm using this mod with TTW, and I can confirm it works perfectly! I'm using the 300x slower leveling, and I'm still level 3 after doing most early game quests, which is fantastic and brings much needed balance. I completed early game quests (quests before going to DC to visit Three Dog), explored a lot of AWOP + TTW Interiors locations and I'm currently close to only level 4. This, along with the vanilla Very Hard difficulty and Hardcore mode makes for a hell of an awesome game!
Also, NVEC is considered an incompatible mod with TTW, yet I have both and my game works. The TTW developers consider certain mods to be incompatible when they work just fine, I have no idea why. Always see for yourself I guess.
Thanks for your concurrence. I went on to the Mojave end and never noted any problems - although I didn't bother completing all the Mojave stuff (maybe 2/3rds of it). Aye, I think the TTW guys are too quick to tell you something won't work simply because they want the game to be experienced in a certain way and balance it for that, or want you to use only the mods they're involved in or like. But TTW absolutely should have had slower levelling from the get-go! Otherwise you're a top-level god by the time you reach the Mojave. But having just read the changelog for the latest TTW 3.3 release, I still don't see any correction/otpion to slow down the levelling.
My saves tend not to be that long, so I installed the 50% version then gave myself 1xp with console commands. This made me level up 9 times, which I suppose gets me up to the level I'm suppose to be at if I had been using the mod all along. I went from 24-33. This does the job and is the exact same method I use in FO4. Thanks.
Hi! First off, I just want so say that I've really been enjoying your mod so far! There's ´just one problem I have... it seems that, after switching from 70% slower to 100% slower, my game crashes almost instantly when loading up my save. I can walk around for a few seconds but then it just crashes.
Is there any chance this is a known issue and anyone knows how to fix it? I'd be much obliged! Thanks!
I know that some people have had trouble with this mod in an already existing save game, like me. What I did to fix it was download the Complete Respec mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/59629. Use the vigor tester in Doc Mitchell's house to reset your character's level and it will add all of the exp you've gained back. This will set you back a few levels, though. I have the 125% slower file and was almost level 15, did the respec, and now I'm just over level 12.
Unfortunatelly, it didn't work for me. I tried three various files for faster leveling up, yet there was no effect besides totally disabling gaining experience. :( Maybe it's because I loaded my save in which my character had 48 lvl, dunno. Too bad, I wanted to reach the highest level faster with this mod on my old save, but because of its side effects I had to uninstall it.
