Is there any modern alternative to this? It's crazy that the only mod that seems to let you customize outfits with small parts is from 2010. Multiple people are complaining about performance issues, I've been using it for years and didn't really notice anything, but a modern alternative with more options would be pretty swole.
Agreed. I mean, very few people play strictly vanilla anymore, and you're telling me that the ONLY mod that introduces breaking down armors and crafting new ones is 12 years old? That's honestly unbelievable, but it's actually true.
To manually access the tools normally if you're having trouble with mods removing starting gear, such as TTW or New California: The ID for the cheat bag is XX000dc1. The ID for the scav tool is XX0000AEB. Replace the Xs with the load order ID. You can find this in Vortex by heading to the Plugins tab, finding its position, and scrolling right to check its "Mod Index" column. A Mod Index of 0C would result in 0C000dc1, for example.
The cheat bag is disabled by default. [prid XX000dc1], [enable] it in the console, [moveto.player] open it and enjoy. Hope this helps.
For those with the missing scav field kit, as mentioned by Mauler965, the base ID is xx000AEB (xx stands for the mod index for SCAV.esm as shown in your plugin load order. Example, the mod index for my SCAV.esm is 1A, therefore to get the scav field kit, I opened my console and typed "player.additem 1A000AEB 1".
So, I've got a shitload of materials to make the armor but I can find the recipes anywhere in any workbench. Is there a specific workbench or one that comes with the mod that I'm supposed to be using?
The base id for it is --000aeb, -- standing for the first two digits corresponding to the .esm load order. If you are using TTW the beginning sequences remove all gear meaning the kit was removed when you kept flashing forward.
Would it be possible to also add the canteen from the elite riot gear? The current one is great but it clips into the dusters on the ranger combat armor.

Also, make sure to grab its bug fixed esp so some of its gloves will actually display correctly.
