    Just managed to add Big Guns, with the same kind of effects as Guns. And it works. Struggled quite a bit, though.

    Just popping in to say this still slaps. I wanted to not have to worry about skill books halting my progress, and this mod is perfect for it. Retaining the 100 skill cap but allowing the skill books to surpass it without them feeling wasted is just what I wanted.

    any chance survival skill will be added?
    ot could increase the effectiveness of food and drink even further in hardcore mode or just healing in normal.

    To me, that kind of mod is perfect to make sure you won't waste skill books or special effects on drugs or equipement. In my first playthrough, i stopped leveling my Guns skill at 90 because i didn't want these books and effects to be wasted. As a result, i could never use my anti material rifle correctly^^. But with this, i can up a skill to 100 and still benefit for what i find afterwards. I hope it still works.

    EDIT: I haven't installed "LvlUpNoLock", only modified the value of skills from 100 to 255 in levelup_menu.xml (it is safer for compatibility sake than replacing the whole file... People explained below how to do it). I haven't edited the .xml to be allowed to pour more than 100 in skills (the "+" not appearing is fine by me). I installed this "Boosted skill effects" mod. I have quite a few other mods changing HuD, gameplay and such (although i haven't finished my install just yet). Now, conclusions, using the console in game to cheat:

    Player.getav guns = 20 >>> With a weathered 10mm pistol, "Guns" skill20: 14/42 (per bullet/DPS)
    Player.getav guns = 100 >>> With "Guns" skill at 100: 24/69
    Player.getav guns = 111 (the HuD still displays 100) >>> With "Guns" skill at 100, and with an outfit that gives +10 Guns + 1 Agility: 25/73

    In the end: this works just fine, even to this day. And on top of it, it is actually balanced. Although i do believe it would be cheated if one just raised it to 200 rather than limiting the top base score to 100 or something.

    Possibly a boosted "S.P.E.C.I.A.L" effects version?

    I loaded this mod, and whenever I get in game, I'm stuck in 3rd person view and can't get out of it. Also, when I hit the L button, it makes a duplicate of me for some reason, and my character is doing a jerking off animation. It's kinda funny, but any suggestions?

    If neither of your skills is below 100 you will have no available points to dispense.
    If it's your case, you can use one of 2 workarounds:

    a) Reduce one of your skills by means of the console.
    example: player.forceav unarmed 80

    b)You can cheat by either deleting or commenting the <and> lines in levelup_menu.xml below of the comment:

    <!-- Only visible if total value < max value and if we haven't already used up our stat points -->

    Should you opt to comment instead of delete them do it so that they'll read:
    <!--<and>
    <copy src="io()" trait="_CurrPoints"/>
    <lt src="io()" trait="_MaxPoints"/>
    </and>-->

    Edited:
    When I say delete them I mean to delete these 4 lines only: from <and> to </and>. The outcome is that you'll have infinite points to dispense every time you level up.

    For some reason this doesn't work for me. I can only increase skill to 100, after that the "+" sign disappears and there's no way to increase it further.

      I'm in the same boat as you. I have even tried reading the guns skill book but my guns skill was still 100.

      There's only 2 ways to see what your actual skill level is as the skill menu in the pipboy will NOT display any values over 100. You have 2 choices to find out your actual skill level. Way one is by opening the console with the "~" key and typing in player.getskillav "skill name" (I think that console command is correct) OR you can try using the "toggler" mod and MCM (located here http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/44641/? ). In the MCM menu under toggler, there are 2 sub headings, one shows the skills you can toggle on and off (like meltdown and a few others) with the other sub menu being labeled as "skills" and this menu gives you your current actual values of your skills. Hope this solves your dilemma as this mod DOES work (I've been using it for quite some time).

      you need this mod: http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35562
      then you can increase the skill past 100 although the menu can't show numbers above 100, they still get increased.

      It breaks like this:
      - ability to pass through 100 and add some effect - you need this mod.
      - ability to actually add points past 100 - need an UI unlocker. If using DarnifiedUI and there is Darnified_Levelupnolock present.
      - and finally, ability to display behind 100. toggler MCM does it.
