Just a note, avoid using the "Rich Traders - 10x" plugin, because the original maximum for vendors with more caps is 4000 (in the G.E.C.K. they're classified with "VendorCapsBaseLarge") and the limit of caps that vendors can use before triggering the glitch where you can't receive caps after selling something to them is 32767. I recommend using instead "Rich Traders - 2x" or "Rich Traders - 4x", which are safe to use.

As an example, one of these vendors with the maximum caps in the game is Lacey, in the Mojave Outpost.

In Fallout 3 is safe to use a maximum of 10x with the vendors, because the vendors with the maximum caps never have more than 2000 caps originally. But in New Vegas this is totally different, here are more vendors and with more caps. They can have up to 4000 caps originally. So, don't use the "10x" plugin in New Vegas and you'll avoid a headache (and the glitch).

Besides that, this is a very useful mod for those who like to sell items in the game.

The mod works without any problems. It's just worth knowing about one very important thing. In this type of mods, the only safe value is 2x caps. At higher levels, Vendortron has 8,000 caps and with a value of 4x it reaches 32,000. Then he gets an error with caps. That's why I recommend using the 2x plugin.

Which exact traders/vendors does this affect? Is it vanilla only or DLC as well?! Will Joshua Graham, Daniel, Sink Vendor from OWB all be affected by this? What about all the vendors upgraded by GRA pack (upon the release of GRA pack all vendors inventory script was re-written by a patch, that only runs if you have GRA pack installed! I know for sure that Gloria Van Graff's inventory was at least affected that way as well as Vendortron of GRA...). Is there a list of vendors affected anywhere?...
...For now i won't download and install this (which also may lead to endorsement...) until i get an answer...didn't mean for it to sound like a blackmail, but when you get mods like these you gotta know specifics...
...as for Traders with more than 32k caps not transferring their caps to PC for the stuff he/she sells - this was already fixed by several patches, including most famous one - YUP! I played New Vegas with latest version of YUP and experimented with some of Vendors to have them extreme number of caps (something like over 100k) in GECK myself and then try to sell things and they always gave me their money...

You know, it would be nice if when you decide to abandon a buggy mod and leave it buggy, you posted a little notice to that effect here. I downloaded the thing and it's still got all of the bugs referred to in this thread and the author hasn't said a flipping word since April?

I've noticed that about a lot of the mods offered here... they're always described as a "beta" or a "WIP" and then far too many of them... including some truly promising ones... are simply abandoned by the authors when the bugs start popping up and they can't fix them.

I disagree that this is a "buggy" MOD. I also think it's ridiculous to say that a MOD author, who is offering their hard work to you for free, has entered into an obligation with you, to follow these rules you set.

Let's remember that the MOD author did not have to share the MOD with us at all. Having offered it to us for free, they did not have to answer any questions, make updates or anything else. It was also their project to abandon or withdraw at any time on any basis they wanted. There was no obligation to notify anyone.

Why do I care? Because many MOD creators HAVE abandoned projects on here precisely because of how the public mistreated them, or they continued enhancing their MODs but never posted the newer versions. Let's not drive the rest of them away.

I have used it for a long time and not found it buggy at all, despite the hundreds of MODs I run at the same time and the fact that I drastically alter my MOD lineup every time I start a new character.

I agree, its not this mod that is buggy at all. The issues most people run into with this mod is that they realize there's a bug built into the game itself that makes vendors not pay you if they are over 32000 caps. Not the MOD author's fault the game was shipped with so many silly bugs. I believe another Modder has released a fix for the max caps problem though.

I have been using this MOD for a couple of years now in the thousands of hours I have played Fallout New Vegas under quite divergent MOD conditions, meaning just a few MODs to hundreds at the same time. I use the 10x version because, frankly, when I defeat someone in battle, I want to take everything they have on them, and when I defeat a lot of people, I want to take that, too. So, when I find a vendor, I need them to have enough caps to buy the loot that I took of the bodies. The vanilla vendors were driving me nuts with that.

In fact, going back at least to Morrowind, I had to use MODs that increased the amount vendors had. Otherwise I found the games unplayable. I use similar MODs in Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 3 and other such games.

I get it that some say this is buggy. All I can say is that I have it as close to the bottom of my load list as possible. I install it with the Nexus Mod Manager and then place it really far down there so that no later MOD can mess with it. I hope you find this helpful.

When this mod stops working you have to clean your save and plug it back it in and after waiting in a shack like Jenny's Sky Diving the mod should work again.

Tried using x4 version, didn't work for me, My game is patched up to the latest version.
I wonder if I gotta wait the vendors refresh their inventory for this to work?

the vendors stop 65535 caps and i can then only give them my stuff as gifts (it comes up normally but i no caps change hands), so i'm selling my stuff for free!

    Which version are you using?
