I can't figure out why but with Med-Tec enabled, I can sleep 1 hour and I fully recover all my HPs, which is way too easy :(

I tried with all my other mods disabled except Arwen, and native hardcore mode is OFF (as recommended by Arwen)

Just remembered downloading this mod way back when, was my first foray into modding. Talk about a blast from the past.

Why TF would repair skills be gender based??? Why would ANY skills be gender based? None of that is realism, that's just...bizarre.

i doubt anyone would be active in this thread in 2023 or that the mod author would be around
but i keep having a weird glitch where when i open the medical menu i get 6 pieces of power armor in my inventory. every single time. very weird, never seen a glitch like this before.

    THANK YOU SO MUCH @Arwen

This Mod made my Fallout 3 gameplay a pure joy in the "Two Wastelanders Series" I did with Artifactual

Looking forward to using this for a Fallout New Vegas and forget about the BLOWHARD who has a "Love / Hate" Relationship with your mod.  They shouldn't install it if they didn't want it or liked it!

I LOVE IT and thanks again Arwen

I have a love/hate relationship with this mod.
While there's cool features like changing the courier's height, so Cass doesn't stand eye level with him, there's other s#*! that just flat out sucks like the extreme delay in stimpack effectiveness, the fact that if you're walking and use a stimpack, it literally hurts you and the stimpack doesn't even work. The H20, RAD, SLP, FOD counters don't go down no matter what I do. I had to shut off hardcore mode half way through my current playthrough because no matter what I did, i was suffering, couldn't heal, etc.

The idea itself is actually awesome, and I love the edition of the Skyrim style camera, but holy mother of Christ does this make a hardcore playthrough impossible because of how bugged it is. I'll endorse it based on the idea of it alone, but the execution really needs improvement. Too bad the mod maker is AWOL.

Dead mod, insanely difficult gameplay even on the lowest difficulty. Download at your own risk.

The system says I last downloaded this in 2016, so how it plays now is anybody's guess - it was always a "my way or the highway" mod though.
The mod author has indeed long since moved on, but if you don't add any other .esp mods it should still work as intended.
It's a mod that demands you to play to the author's vision of the game, so no, it's not for everybody.

Arwen's Fallout 3 Realism Tweaks was probably an even more mature mod than this, I would recommend it too.

Stimpack's doing damage when you're moving just makes sense, you're sticking a huge needle into yourself.
So that's not a bug, it's a feature. It says "Realism Tweaks" up there, yes?

I finished the game several times with various incarnations of this mod, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Absolutely it is rock hard, especially early on.
Some of us love it that way.

I haven't had this mod installed for months but I did figure out the issues.
I had this, Harder Hardcore, and Project Nevada all running on top of each other with Immersive Primary needs. All of those running on top of one another without any real sense of what I was doing, or how to properly order mods was causing a series of conflicts, making this nod in particular nearly impossible to play hardcore mode on.

I've since thought about redownloading it and adding it to my current playthrough, especially after I've learned the proper way to install mods via Viva New Vegas, but I'm still like...nah lol

Arwen has even suggested this is only for those who are dead serious about always playing hardcore, and want an even greater challenge. Maybe someday soon. Maybe.

This mod has always been a requirement in my load order for playing fonv, absolutely loved the added difficulty and immersion from using it. Have some truly epic memories of diving into a huge AWOP dungeon infested by mutants, robots, turrets and raiders. Was in there for days, by the time I came out I've been crippled in every body part several times (and leveled up several times as well) and have basically run out of every piece of my medical supplies (of which I had a LOT with me). Dragged my character out barely alive, limping and bleeding, having died and reloaded many times. When I was out and it was time to draw conclusions I realized that was the most fun I've had in a game in a long time!

Sadly, after installing NV and this mod again for some reason it's not working properly and my thirst, hunger, etc. are not going down. Probably some conflict, hopefully I can solve it.

Has anyone mentioned the idea to make headshots fatal without head protection as with "Realistic weapon damage". IMO it would really pull the Injury/Damage portion of the mod together if that was a thing. Would it be possible to make that lone change in FNVedit?

Just going to leave this here for anyone else who reads it, but..

There are mods for this, but it does come with a complication as damage is multiplied based on locational damage, so like you do 3x for skull when set, but that skull damage is applied not only for human npc's, but you aswell, so if you can one tap an enemy, you can be onetapped too from a random stray bullet making it effectively pure RNG of where the bullet hits you with absolutely no control to decide whether you live or die. Its a very difficult balancing act.

" One of the main elements of a RPG has always been that the amount of damage you do is ALWAYS determined by your skill level. "

Have... have you ever actually played an RPG?

Nah, Spodah's got a point. Tabletop RPGs based damage on the weapon and enchantment solely (e.g., D&D 2nd and 3rd editions). Deus Ex (The Conspiracy) based weapon damage on discrete perks, otherwise based solely on the weapon. Heck, even Fallout 1 & 2 had weapon damage based solely on the weapon, with weapon skill contributing only to critical chances and hit chances. It's merely a Bethesdism that weapon damage scaled in floating point based on weapon skill. It has more in common with JRPGs than western RPGs in that sense.

That said, there's also opinion and value judgement that we need: is scale-by-skill better? Yes, IMO.

I think solong as the damage isn't ONLY factored by skill then its fine. Example being skill levels for gun being 1-100, and if you have gun level 1 then your guns do 2 damage, and at 100 skill you do 200 damage. Scale-By-Skill based on Effective Damage is way better then Scale-By-Skill Flat Damage.

Example of Scale-By-Skill Effective Damage is like what we have in Fallout New Vegas, where there's a flat damage amount, say 25 for a revolver, and its your skill 1-100 defines damage effectiveness through scaling. So, various methods being like at skill level 1 you would do 25 damage, and at skill level 100 you do 50 damage, as skill level defines effective percentage based damage bonus. There's also different version  for like, Multiplicative, and etc.
