maybe you should make him a bit more spartan, ditch the body armor, and give him default pants with puttees, and maybe just give him the same "mayor maccready" helmet as everyone else except with the MP stencil on it.
cool to see the NCR being reworked ... thanks wondering if you're going to tackle the Ranger armours too
this chest plate looks like its riding too low or something ... dunno keeping the MP fresh and shiny is cool ... they're mostly deployed out at the Strip and the bases any chance there's a Jack Reacher version hiding out in the WIP tray?
that's a tough one ... seems 95% of the images around now are of Tom Cruise.
From reading the books I guess JR would keep part of the MP uniform, boots, pants etc ... and go a leather jacket, maybe the check shirt from the caravaneer outfit underneath (no NCR faction scripts I guess) ... throw in a small backpack over one shoulder, some avaitor glasses and you pretty much have an ex NCR MP hitch hiking hobo detective.
Skill buffs? hmmm survival and sneak and melee/unarmed?
Jack Reacher - Drifter MP out in the wastes hunting down rogue NCR/legion spies ... hence still kitted out

lower body ... ranger issue for tracking through the wastes http://www.cryeprecision.com/images/items/Fullsize/APRCPE0232R.jpg no need for camo pattern, but knee pads and hard wearing make sense boots and waders or leg wraps would help getting through thick scrub
anyhow ... shemagh on head plus glasses for bit of incognito recon can't look either too desert or too town... bit of both not to draw too much attention
that pretty much runs an off the cuff jack reacher 'in the field' idea
Looks good but I think it is missing something. I think it needs to look a little more ragged, it looks a bit too much like General Oliver's attire. The WWII look is fine but it should look a little less civilized such as what NCR looks.
It needs a more "wastelandish" and desert feel. I think you should lose the hat too.
I dont know these men were deployed on the strip not on the frontlines they are supposed to look clean kind of like how the praetorian guards he made are clean because they never see combat
Its a shirt and pants, its not like these things are overly hard to find or implausible fpr a post apocalyptic world. Still if its an issue, , maybe some more tactical gear/harnesses could be added so the troops look like they could take brief tours to the outside if need be: stuff like more pouches, canteens a knife, that sort of thing. Maybe even arm and kneepads? I guess you could also add the chance for these armors to come equipped with a cloth mask or something to keep dust out of the nose/mouth, with the chance for the MPs to wear various kinds of sunglasses.
I'm just saying it looks too common and too proper even for the Strip. I mean, for a nation which is wearing itself out and spending money all over the place to solve various problems, these guys look a little too well equipped.
You'd think that non-essential personnel such as these MPs would look less well prepared than the normal troops, at least that's how I always saw the normal NCR MPs, they didn't even have armor.
Nonetheless, this is just my opinion, Dragbody is free to do as he wants and I'm getting the mod regardless of what the MPs end up looking like anyway.
But then again, how do the normal armors make sense then? This is literally a shirt and pants with slight addons. If anything they are under-equipped given their situation. NV thematically is about the story of great powers fighting and repeating the old mistakes of the dead world, following misguided ideologies and struggling vainly against one another. It fits.
Also: the Strip is literally chuck full of people wearing pre-war civilian wear. Soo...
I understand the thoughts being expressed here, but let me share my point of view.
The vanilla MP armors are very boring--they're just the normal trooper fatigues with a strap around the arm. Yawn. I'm not saying the MPs should look all cool and tough, but they should at least be distinct. MP outfits, especially vintage ones, look nerdy and quite the opposite of cool. So I think making the MP armor for the NCR very cool looking would be a miss. The point is that MPs aren't cool at all; they're uptight dweebs. They're like hall monitors in high school telling drunk troopers to keep it together.
So the idea for this armor is not that your Courier would wear it, but rather that it fits the part.
Yeah I see what you're getting at, WWII MPs wore ties too, they didn't look all that special. I guess it makes sense going at it from that point of view.
Me likey drag. Just a lil' suggestion, maybe it can say "Military Police" on the back or something like that. Of course, it's just a suggestion no need to implement anything.
These are slowly gravitating away from the redesigned look of the NCR that you gave when you breathed new life into them.
This does look good, standalone. I would recommend looking back at the armors you did previous. What makes them so iconic as NCR? What makes them so Identifiable, despite being a rag tag group of dirty guys? Take that, and apply it here, mix it with modern police (to help identity) as well as the wwII look you've got going for you.
My immediate critique is the glaring difference in the pants. It's a good idea to use light and color contrast to lead the viewers eye, however, the pants in this case are so much darker, with so much more contrast than the rest of the outfit, my eye is immediately drawn to them. And lets be honest, they never looked all that great.
So, I would say, replace those with the troopers pants, get some gloves on him, darken up the shirt, and add some more defining, "MP" markers.
cheers, Gonna go check out the female officer now.
Looks good. Maybe some handcuffs on the belt, or is that what's in the pouch just below the small of the back? I want to suggest a police baton on the belt, but it would likely clip something fierce and just get in the way if they actually carry one. Great work and lookin' good!
