This is a very well written chapter, and I like that it gives us a more complete look at what Vaults Garrett has actually been too. And it serves as a good reminder that what we, the player know about the vaults, and Vault-tech, wouldn't necessarily be known to our characters. It's hard to put aside, say, our knowledge of meeting Dr. Braun in Vault 112 from Fallout 3. And what a totally despicable being he was, and that he was behind most of the experiments carried out in the vaults. We the player, tend to fill that in with other stuff we learned from other games in the series and apply that knowledge to our characters, when there is honestly no conceivable way they could have gotten that information.

We, the players, have a more complete picture of what went on in the Vaults, and what went on behind the scenes at Vault-Tech, than our characters will probably ever have. And this chapter nicely brings that into focus.

Makes you wonder what information could be pulled out of the computers at Vault-Tech HQ in Boston, given the time and resources to do a proper job of recovering as much data as is possible. Pretty sure that the only ones who could do the job would be the BoS or the Institute. Not sure if either one wouldn't misuse any data they did recover sadly.

Thank you very much Dave Your cooment means a lot to me. It tells me that I've achieved what I try to do. I - as the player - have been to all of the vaults open to the player. And several times at that. But Garrett was not a characer in Fallout 1, 2, 3 and 4. Not to mention the vaults in FO76 which I haven't played myself either. I try to figure out just HOW much does he  -realistically- know about the post-war world in which he lives. And from where does he get this knowledge.

Your storytelling gives me the feeling "I was there" The lore has come to me in bits and pieces due to my dyslexia your version is very enlighterning and readable. Don't give the Governments much credit though We humans are easily misled. I wish you the best!

A sombre but solid chapter. Evocative and engaging.

It's hard to disagree. There seems to be a marked lack of integrity and humanity in those who are allegedly in charge in many cases. Self-interest and corruption seem rife and rampant in the extreme.
