What is depth buffer? I've seen it but I don't know what it means or what changing it looks like.

I'm probably not the best at explaining this. But basically it's a thing in Reshade (and ENB, NVR etc) that allows for it to use depth based effects like certain fog shaders, ambient occlusion, things like that. You have to turn off the game's antialiasing (MSAA) for it to work with New Vegas. I'm using it with NVR and reshade 5.2.1 and it seems to be working fine, although I don't think you need NVR with these newer versions of Reshade to be able to access depth buffer, you used to need it.
