I gotta say, you write really well. I've been writing since I was 13 (as in, narrative s#*! and all that) and you've got the comic rapport down pat. Six is a little more horny-vated than I play him, but his "somewhat menacing tactical nice-guy" vibe is my personal approach to New Vegas anyways, and how I always imagine my Fallout characters.

At first I was leery about the comic format, but you are absolutely killing it. It has an excellent balance between "Courier Six is a badass because he's just a badass" and "Courier Six is a badass because he's in touch with his humanity and thinks on his feet." I'm binge-reading all your stuff and it just keeps getting better. I especially love the new introspective tone Six is taking with the government arc, it's a far cry from how most people envision the Wildcard ending and I think it does the writing in the game proud to see it expanded upon. Excited to see how you progress!

I always think other than tech and knowledge of the old world the most valuable assets NV has are the people (including bots) over the Mojave, and your comrades (whichever your faction). Security(trivial), Resources(again, people included, also diplomacy), and Sustainability are the key to survive the wasteland. Then the education and cultural stuff for the latter. As always, New Vegas will need a lot of trading in exchange for the resources it doesn't have, a growing civilization center of new world will inevitably drain its resources fast. So it will be definitely needed for the Courier to outsource from whatever faction/region, aka expansionism. Of course, it could be just a wet dream of Mr. House, there might be other ways to survive, but it won't be as glory as Mr. House's path for sure. For example, Anarchism, Transcendentalism, or the Thoreau's way. Though I liked to call it Naturist for the Mojave.

I've been around the world in lots of dicey places - security is always job #1 - if you don't have that, there is no culture, no economy, no art, etc.  Of course, in order to have true security, you need to have (honest and trustworthy) people in positions of power.

I meant, "trivially" first and most important/basic of all, impossible to ignore, without thinking twice or saying at all, like a trivia. My bad sluggish english.

This also reminds me why felt so empty choosing the canonical Yes-Man as the default ending: pure autonomy/anarchism just won't work without solid security. Against large forces of the wastelands, totalitarianism(the bull) or expansionism(the bear) can easily destroy small and isolated tribes who seek merely minimum self-rule or Appeasement. Especially if we look at things happened in 2022 today. There are too many threats in the wastelands. Security can only be more crucial in post-apocalyptic world. I bet the canonical Independent New Vegas would barely last for a few years if Courier just being a canonical Courier(stranger/lone traveler/wandering hero).

Brother, your English is phenomenal.  I've studied three other languages, and when I type I sound like a preschooler in each language.
We agree on the political points.  A society in the Wasteland would need a powerful leader to protect people in order to start a real society.  The NCR had a good start, it seems (with the visionary Tandi) but then success bred corruption (like it always does...)  There is a real balancing act between authoritarianism/autocracy and communism/power-to-the-people. As I see it, each has it's own strengths and weaknesses- authoritarianism doesn't take the little guy into account, and nothing actually gets done when 'the people'  are in charge...
Oh well - plotline fuel for storytellers :)

Let's resurrect Benny and make him a puppet ruler with Yes-Man the minister, he can do better than an irresponsible unslanted/unaffiliated lonesome Courier. So we can focus on more adventures. ~ That was my first thought for the default "fail-safe" ending.

I love plot fuel, that's why I still linger here for inspiration. NV can always(mostly) force people to think. Could just forget until I return.

I think my Courier will have to tear himself away from governing duties every once in awhile to adventure... is that too cliché/corny movie-ish?  I'm thinking King of Jordan - he's in charge, but also can clear a room with a SWAT team....

Well, hope you'll find a creative and sensible way to do so (actually I've come up with a few ideas except my established headcanon just now), maybe leaving all the mess to someone(vanilla). I tried to keep the new 'government' small and functional and 'automated', adding a bit of anarchy flavor to the people living there, so I can launch my Courier into other wastelands after clearing out all threats inside and nearby Vegas, by force or another.

I was always a B-Hood fan in FO 1 and 2, and even FO3.  Then there's Elijah, plus a lot of mods out there that explore what happens when you get a fanatical leader in there.  (True Believers in X) + (lots of firepower) + (Holy Quest for Your Own Good) = historically never works out well for anybody.

I think Obsidian were right to remove the option to ally with them from the House route, their loyalty will always be to themselves and the Codex, in my comics they've had dealings with them but never trusted them and will often wipe them out in various timelines, the heavy reliance on technology my lot have means they're going to see anyone else with technology as a threat.

I really like the inventory of assets, liabilities, friends and enemies you did for us. Puts the magnitude of the control and organizing in perspective for Six.....and the author as well! I'm sure the ladies will help him relax and get a fresh look at the chores ahead. Poor guy

and, yeah, I'm going to have to build a spreadsheet or something to keep all of this straight as I go... :(

Taking inventory. A very interesting chapter - seriously. It reminds of a few things that I failed to remember. Eyebots being one of the more important of the lot. Now I just have to be careful not to become TOO much inpired by what you're doing. Got to stick to the plan

Thanks, Bernt!  I have to admit, I'll be cribbing some of your lore for later... but only because it was great :D and it fills in some big holes in the existing lore   (I'll ask permission first when I get there, of course...)
