   Fantastic set up. Straight out of the 50s. :D The hair combing thing was Edd "Kookie" Byrnes trademark in a detective crime/drama called 77 Sunset Strip. I can't remember, he was a driver or maybe a car park, but a friend of Efrem Zimbalist and gave him tips from the street that helped the detective. It was a "hip" show in those days. Every time Kookie appeared on scene he would pull his comb from his pocket and run it through his hair. More trivia than you want but here goes, with some real cool 50s hipster talk --
