If you're wondering just how radioactive these goo pits are, running from the bottom lip of the "lake" to the bridge is guaranteed Stage 1 Radiation sickness.
You'll also take direct health damage while standing (or swimming) in them. While the radiation will kill you long before that, it's something else to be mindful of.

The main goal I had was to incorporate a "Goo Lake" in to the room  went through about a half-dozen layouts, including a platforming based variation before settling on having the player circle around the rim, then go across via the bridge.

Not the most inspired variant, but I have some ideas for new enemy variations that might spice things up a bit.
