There is dev version that was compiled by one of the users on NVR/OR discord channel. Alenet published only source code (and it far from being complete, shadows do not recieved by actor's skin and pip-boy lights for example),one person compiled it and put to discord chat.
Anyways, i tried every setting in NVR, i think it still looks like ass compared to ENB. Half of the stuff doesn't even work at all, and the other half looks bad, the fog, the ao, the dof, it's all bad. The only thing that looks good in it is the water.
It would be nice if the shadows would work, then you could use it for those only and put a ENB on top of it. But then it messes up tha AO, but i don't mind switching out my AO for shadows.
What Allnarta said, though I didn't get it from the discord myself, it's compiled from the latest source.
They're far from perfect and you have to use stupidly high resolution to get them looking half way decent but I think they're absolutely worth using, far better then whatever ENB calls shadows, ambient culling or whatever, plus I can use decent AA. haha
The shadows are cool if they work for sure, but the DOF is like vanilla dof, it looks bad and it's slow, couldn't seem to configure it right either. AO didn't work with me, volumetric FOG was extremely bugged, as in unusable, god rays didn't work either.
So i ended up having only underwater on, and ENB on top of that, and that looked OK, but sadly the AO of enb was rendered on top of the weapon so the weapon camera render order was swapped by it.
But hey, to be honest, if shadows would work OK, i would happily ditch my ENB and play with a good weather mod and NVR and static dof for the distant view just to blur the horizon line a bit.
But i tried to find it, but can't get my hands on it, i cant even find the discord. I can't find any info on NVR on the tesreloaded site either. So its a mod that you have to find each and every setting out yourself by changing settings one by one and keep restarting your game to see what it does.
I'd like to try it out with the shadows, but like i said, i can't find it anywhere.
Link to their discord is on top of tesreloaded site. Though I am annoyed how Alenet make things too, dropping non-compliled mod as a bone to starving waiting players... WTF. Promisiong to release NVR update in a week, and doing it repeatedly about year and a half... WTF. Just say truth and not do that emotion-exhausting teases for so long time. Ugh.
EDIT: so i got it working with a version from Discord, it took some doing but it works, looks nice too. Going to mess around with it to see if i can make it look good. Maybe try to get it working along ENB if possible.
They are there already, but in deep development state (tbh I barely believe that full update will be out someday because we hear "next week" from developer already for more than a year).
Interesting. That's explains one of the screenshots i saw not too long ago where it had shadows, but they didnt seem to be "trash" ENB shadows, so i was confused. If it will see the light of day it will change everything, at least for me :P Thanks for letting me know.
