According with Fallout gamepedia, Pariah dog is "A pitiful-looking dog, with fur falling off in large patches, a missing eye, and other wounds, the Pariah is known to bring horrible bad luck".

I was itching to see how Pariah dog would look like in New Vegas. I know that the Jinxed trait he brings to the player is a strong reason why a lot of people hates it as a companion. Since it's not a feral creature, I believe he's just a battered doggy that is seeking for food and love. I was thinking there could be a mission for the courier to take the dog to a doctor/veterinarian so it could get medical attention. In order for the doggy to heal the courier would have to search specific medication, a task that would prove to be very risky and troublesome. And all with 1 point of Luck, or any point at all. If you get to complete the quest, the doggy could be healed and you would be granted the opposite to the Jinxed trait, not to mention you'll get a healthy friend. By the way, I made the doggy a female.

Looking at it immediately brings back horrible memories from FO2 and decreases my Luck. T_T

As for the quest, I think 2 possible solutions to "transform" the dog would be nice. One was your aformentioned healing route which would make her remains a normal and happy dog. Another could be a way to fully cyberize the dog to save her life, by extracting the dog brains and spine and put her into a full robotic dog chassis like K-9 (also from FO2) This route is easier and quicker but have more stats requirement for the player, like 85 in Science, Fepair and Medicine.

Thank you DiamondBorne! . I agree, turning her into a Cyberdog could be a good option. Perhaps two scenarios: 1) Only to replace the more damaged limbs, like Rex, or 2) a completely brain transplant as you explained

    I absolutely adore this idea.
I do hope you make this a reality. Already looking like a great homage, just like your other throwbacks. Keep it up.

Thank you Marcurios! . Haven't thought about that, maybe those lumps in her body could be a product of radiation. More than that, part of the bad luck could be attributed to the fact she emmits a bit of radiation. Just some ideas

If you ever release this, I'm going to make it into a companion mod.

The idea I have is that you can train the dog in various ways, give it unique dog armors, & other cool stuff, but the penalty for having the dog as a companion would be that he/she would lower the player's luck by 3, 4, or 5 points. However, once you train the dog enough, the luck penalty goes away & you get a companion perk for the dog.

Thank you bloxyman . That would be cool, this girl really wants to be adopted and has the potential to be a helpful companion . I like the idea of being able to train the dog. That could be one of the reasons he brings bad luck, since when you're in the battlefield you need to react quickly, and companions without training would be less effective.
