I like it's less subtle irony.
Back again - with a distinctly sour taste in my mouth...... I remember running into some of these age checks - as an adult. On certain American pages they'd ask you some questions you most likely only would be able to answer if you were born before this year or that. And was an American. I consider myself well educated an literate. But I did not know anything - at all- about all american stuff like baseball and university teams - to name some of the questions. Today I'd google it of course - and hope google is right.......
