A Bounty Hunter's lament

After saving the town mining town of Silver during Russell's quest to bring down the scalp hunter Glanton, the price for doing the right thing seemed high. With the Legion beaten back, Russell and Carib were too late to stop Glanton who brutally murdered the tribal sandwolves to the last child. While both men had seen their fair share of horror, the needless brutality and execution of a innocent babe was something neither man could wash or let go. Russell would walk away from the bounty on Glanton, but Carib would remember and would some day plunge that same bowie knife in that scalp hunters heart.

As Russell walks away shaken, he heads back to the town.

Carib squats and looks at the dead baby and sighs at the utter waste. The kid probably could have had a future. Probably could have been the next Chosen One. What a waste. As he got up, he was ready to pop another Big Boss cigarette between his lips but decided to remove his shovel and bury the unnamed babe. He thought of Willow and how she would have gone to pieces at this sight and the anger came back to the Nuka Cola Chaser.

Digging a small grave, he tendered placed the babe inside and covered the mound. Thinking of an old song his half sister had taught him in Vault 18, he laid a small desert flower on the mound. "You will be avenged," he bowed his head, "I swear it."
