I love Point Lookout. I love the atmosphere, I love the tone, I love the (lack of) colors. And this tree reminded me of my favorite show, so you can bet your sweet ass that I love this tree, too.
I like FO3 for what it is. I enjoy just wandering and exploring. I can look past most of the flaws, since none of the developers had worked on a Fallout game before, and they were given the job to resurrect the franchise. As opposed to FO4, where most of the flaws are present because "f*#@ it, dumb kids will still buy it. And those modder idiots will fix the broken s#*! anyway, for free. Now if only there was some way we could profit off of mods, too. Hmmmmm...."
Sure, it's fun enough for a bit of mindless wandering and shooting. I played through the game on 360 once over the course of a summer I didn't have a job or internet access. Doubt I would have actually played more than a few hours if I had anything better to do though. I barely remember anything about the game other than Point Lookout and the various mind-bogglingly stupid bits like Little Lamplight and the Raven Rock sequence.
