I'd love to go back to the Mojave and travel with Willow again. Unfortunately no matter what I try I just cannot get NV to work on my rig. I can run both 4 and Skyrim SE at ultra and maintain at least 45-50 FPS but I can't even get NV or 3 to load.

Thanks Kain I dunno. My OS is win10/64. and it is not fond of older games. I had to buy Civ4 and-5 once again to get the Steam versions. My original disc versions wouldn't work. And - as far as I could Google- it was the latest major win10 update that did it Still - I installed New Vegas from Steam and it did start up smoothly. And runs stable - for now. I'm just into Primm with 50 active mods. I'm using NMM for installing. I don't know if there might be an issue with NVidia cards. I'm running on a Radeon with 4 Gb.
One of these days I'll install FO3 once again. Then I'll see. It's been a while - though still on Win10.

Have you tried running the things in the Redists folder just to be sure they're installed?

I like the KB Man thing, I'd try it myself but I'm kinda stubborn so the arguments would last forever and I'd be known as KB Pillock, oh well

And Sunny Smiles eeh by gum, quite liked Little Sunshine I did

I rather liked the original colour palette for NV but heck, thank heavens NMC made those texture packs.

Thank you very much Marthos I think it was Brigand I noticed doing it first. "Breaking the fourth wall." And I liked the banter and dialogue going on with Mona. I've done it quite a bit over the years now. Mainly because "It is only a game. Why so serious....." Another things is that this - mainly- was meant as a sort of teaser. Because by now I've decided to finish the "diary" properly. And I've left too many questions open. That also means I have to go back and read up because of continuation. At least I've kept my own modded stuff - and what others did for me. Like the duster if you pay notice. One of a kind made for me by Miss Morose

After all your trials and tribulations, it looks much better! The colors are bright and rich, almost looks like you're running an ENB. Hopefully, things will go smoother now. Plus, like Cormell mentioned, NV has the Groovatron (which I sorely miss in F4, especially the grab key you can just yank NPC's into position ) and the ability to really add some expressive facial expressions. Love the chit chat between KB man and Garrett at the end. And I'm ready to see Garrett roll again.

Thnak you very much Pat Yes - the game is smooth as a velvet paw now No ENB though. Tried one but gave up on it again. Too many possibilities! I'm probably not going to upload much for the foreseeable future. I'm really out of ideas - except the diary keeps nagging at me now. I might even have to install FO3 again

KB man makes an appearance. Garrett could have been rougher on him though. That guy put him through a lot of bull puckey. Working on the diary again, that will be much appreciated.

(I did a couple sets in NV, maybe a year ago. It was hard getting used to the differences. But there are a lot of good things like the poses, facial expressions, and Baja. Worst thing is that NV crashes a lot.)

Thank you Laird Garrett is a nice and patient man. And he knows who picks up the bar tab Some things are defintely very much easier to do in FO4. And thus hard to get back to in NV. For now I'm not going to do much about anything but playing through as fast as I can. The last set in FO4 left me drained of ideas. But the diary keeps nagging at the back of my mind. I just need to get to a logical place and setting in-game now.

I'm probably the only person in the world, that prefers vanilla, or "as close to vanilla as possible" look for New Vegas.

      Same here lul

But all very low texture assets (clutter in general like water, caps etc) are a pain in the ass.

Good for us that mods already cover this issue :)

Edit: oh yeah, I also like weather mods. I use clarity.

I played FO3 on vanila - then I found out about mods - and this site. I guess the rest is history (as the saying goes.....) That's the wonderful thing about single player games. Whatever is right for you is THE right thing. And nobody should tell you otherwise. There is no wrong way of doing things here
That said - to me it also brings back memories of heat and stark lightning. Driving top down through the desert - and on these very roads- during our holidays.
      Thank you TMS and Yan
