About this image

Over gameplay time my .esps are unloading / deactivating / deleting themselves from memory.

First it was Honest Hearts, now OWB. Then suddenly all my Electro City light mods and Advanced Recon mods are now showing up as unloaded. When I reload the game all the DLC / mod items are gone and the quests are restarting themselves. I have no idea why. Help?

How many ESPs do you have?

You went over the plugin limit, that is around 120 plugins. That's why the game is spazzing out like that.

I've been running at 135 without problems for ages. Additionally, while I know FNV is sensitive to plugin quantity, I've only ever heard of the breakpoint being around 140. I think it's unlikely that's the problem.

For Ramirez; This is a long shot, but it might be worth checking. Assuming you've got a CPU with more than two cores, you may need iNumHWThreads=2 in the [General] section of your Fallout.ini. Unlike most other problems this one CAN just come out of nowhere, at least in my experience, because every so often the launcher just DECIDES that it's running for the first time and replaces my INI files.

Never heard of mods removing themselves...

Have you reinstalled and made sure all your esp/esm's are checked (the ones you want to use)?

Yes, I have. It's either from purge cell buffers doing it or my game / my saves becoming slowly corrupt over time. I have no idea what's causing it and it's weird.

Literally when it happens (to a DLC for example) the game will tell me about missing content, and all the DLC content will be gone from my inventory. Within about a minute of loading I'll get the quest again i.e. I'll get the notification that Old World Blues has been loaded and my level cap increased by 5, then the quest Midnight Science Fiction Feature! will start itself.
