Been experimenting with Breakable constraints and this is the result. :P If enough force is applied to the knee it will break and leg can then bend in all directions.
Unfortunately, it breaks the leg IK, meaning legs won't adapt to terrain while actor is alive.
It could work for arms and rest of the body, I suppose. Only legs and head use IK.
It's also more performance intensive. There are two constraints for each joint that's breakable. One is breakable constraint, while other one is whatever one wants it to be. Without the second constraint leg would stretch out into infinity. This way "hanging by the skin" is simulated.
Maybe I'll make that as an optional file for folks that don't mind about IK.
