1. Introduction

This mod replaces an existing weapon visual effect in Neverwinter Nights with a pale, fiery white visual effect.

It is set up to be used as an override for players, but the files can of course be used in a hak also. The mod consists of 7 model files for each weapon type; one for each existing visual effect. Depending on how you choose to install the files, it can replace anything from a single visual effect type for a single weapon type, to every visual effect type for all weapon types. Note that it's unfortunately NOT possible to add weapon visual effects to the game without replacing existing ones.

2. Installation
************************************************************
Place the desired set of files into your NWN override folder (usually C:\NeverwinterNights\NWN\override):

replace_acid -- replaces the 'Acid' visual effect for all weapons
replace_cold -- replaces the 'Cold' visual effect for all weapons
replace_electrical -- replaces the 'Electrical' visual effect for all weapons
replace_evil -- replaces the 'Evil' visual effect for all weapons
replace_fire -- replaces the 'Fire' visual effect for all weapons
replace_holy -- replaces the 'Holy' visual effect for all weapons
replace_sonic -- replaces the 'Sonic' visual effect for all weapons

Each of the above folders also includes the 'fxpa_wp_fire' texture file for the sake of convenience when extracting from the folders. The file is the same regardless of which visual effect(s) you're replacing, so you can freely overwrite it with itself. It is required to be in your \override folder for this mod to function in any case.

Note that you can also pick and choose the specific weapons whose visual effects will or won't be replaced, by adding/removing the relevant files to/from your override folder:

waxbt_ -- Battleaxe
waxgr_ -- Greataxe
waxhn_ -- Handaxe
wblcl_ -- Club
wblfh_ -- Heavy Flail
wblfl_ -- Light Flail
wblhl_ -- Light Hammer
wblhw_ -- Warhammer

wdbqs_ -- Quarterstaff
wdbsw_ -- Two-Bladed Sword
wplhb_ -- Halberd
wplsc_ -- Scythe
wplss_ -- Spear
wpltr_ -- Trident
wspka_ -- Kama
wspku_ -- Kukri

wswrp_ -- Rapier
wswsc_ -- Scimitar
wswss_ -- Shortsword

3. Use
************************************************************
Once installed correctly as detailed above, any weapon with a replaced visual effect will display the new white fire effect. You can add or change a weapon's visual effect in the toolset by adding one of the Visual Effect properties.

The mod should be fully compatible with any mod that doesn't replace existing weapon visual effects, including the CEP. It is also compatible with my black weapon VFX mod, with the obvious exception that a single weapon & VFX type combination can't use more than one effect.

4. Notes for the Community
************************************************************
Following on from my previous black weapon VFX mod, E_H_Bonner kindly urged me to also release this variation, so here it is.

Individuals and custom content teams alike are welcome to use, modify, and combine this content in whatever way they desire, without asking for my permission or giving me any credit.
