About this mod

It was one of those days where I was getting bored of doing retro fantasy models for NWN and just wished \"Damn I wish there was a decent futuristic RPG like NWN\", so just checking I could still model futuristic stuff I cooked up this nifty leg armour I saw in a piccy while surfing and then uploaded it for everyone to use as they see fit.

INTRODUCTION:
It was one of those days where I was getting bored of doing retro fantasy models for NWN and just wished "Damn I wish there was a decent futuristic RPG like NWN", so just checking I could still model futuristic stuff I cooked up this nifty leg armour I saw in a piccy while surfing and then uploaded it for everyone to use as they see fit.

Fully padded for CEP integration, but is not directly CEP compatible. Override files and instructions included. Nekomimi model not included.

INSTALLATION:
Which to use? Hakpack, CEP or Override?
If you're making a module, use the hakpack. If you want to use it in single player, use the Override. Remember though that A) Overrides don't work properly in all modules. B) May cause game instability and C) Can only be seen by you. Never log onto a multiplayer game with override based items as you may cause other users to crash, and you'll look a right dork with large leather bag for a weapon, and as such will probably get yourself booted by the DM.

Installing the Hakpack:
Step 1:
Extract the file "D20LegArmour.hak" into The Neverwinter Nights "hak" folder.

Step 2:
Boot up the Aurora Toolset (The one that comes with NWN) and open the module you want to add the Hakpack to.

Step 3:
Go to "Edit -> Module Properties" from the menu, choose the "Custom Content" tab, click the downward arrow next to the dropdown box, then choose "D20LegArmour" from the list that appears. Click "add", then "ok" to close the window.

Step 4:
It'll now recompile your module, when it's done close the window, save your module and close the toolset. Reopen it and load back up your module the Hakpack and it's contents are now ready to use. (You don't HAVE to shut down the toolset, but it makes 100% sure the databases are correctly arranged)

Installing the Override:
Step 1:
Extract everything from the "Override" section of the zip file, and put them into the "override" folder of NWN. And you're done, the new appearances will appear in the toolset and can be used in any module you play.

USING THE ARMOUR:
When you now create a new outfit in the toolset, check the bottom most entries under Leg, Shin and Foot appearance, this will add the parts to the outfit.

FAQ:
Q: My legs are invisible after I left the module!
A: If you want to use the hak in multiple modules (Single Player) install the override instead of the hakpack. If you want to use it online them the server needs to be using the hak, if the admin isn't using that hak, then you can either convince him to use it (Unlikely) or give up because there's no hope.

Q: I've checked the crafting options, no new legs...
A: You can't get them via item crafting (I don't think at least), you need to create your outfit in the toolset save the module, and go yoink it off the NPC you added the outfit to (Or pick it up where you placed it), and save your character.

CONTACTING THE AUTHOR
Complaints? Suggestions? Praise? (Praise is always welcome ^_^) - just give me a bell on any of the following

E-Mail: [email protected]
MSN: [email protected]
Nexus: Ryuujin-0

I can also be caught occasionally on the CODI IRC chatroom (City of Doors Initiative), although due to the fact I have no phone line I'm rarely seen playing on NWN for the time being.

[Warning, Blatant Advert]
I should probably point out I'm currently not in any position of employment, if you're looking for budding 3D modellers to fill a place on a professional design team I'd be more than happy to hear what's on offer ^_^
