About this mod

This hak adds a Stukabat creature, based on (but not ripped from) the unused creature from Half-Life 1. It\'s a 3 foot long flying creature similar in proportion to a baby wyvern, and has an anatomy in keeping with most other \"Xeno\" species. Its long spiked tail is prehensile and hangs upside-down from it while roosting.

INTRODUCTION:
Stukabat was one of the "Unused" models of Half-life, much like the Belker or Barghest of NWN, the Stukabat was evidently a creature they had intended to use but was relegated to the shadows in the rush to final release, and only the model remained to hint at what might have been.

The Stukabat (From what can be worked out from what little information there is) is a 3 foot long flying creature similar in proportion to a baby wyvern, and has an anatomy in keeping with most other "Xeno" species. Its long spiked tail is prehensile and hangs upside-down from it while roosting, and it can walk in a seal like fashion by walking on its "elbows" and and using its tail as a 3rd leg. Other animations suggest it was intended to have some kind of innate power as it has a casting animation that seems to 'power up' then 'project' downwards.

Ultimately the Stukabat is not DnD, and even in Half-life it had no set in stone rules, so you're free to do what you will with it. One thing's for sure, it sure is ugly and certainly wouldn't look out of place in a wizards keep, or flying around the abyss.

IMPORTANT: The Stukabat IS a creature from Half-life, however this model is NOT a conversion, it is completely from scratch, as is the texturing so don't try nicking the model and skin and then claim 'I thought it was ripped from HL so it was ok to mess with and redistribute'.

INSTALLATION:
Installing the Hakpack:

Step 1:
Extract the file "Stukabat.hak" into The Neverwinter Nights "hak" folder.

Step 2:
Boot up the Aurora Toolset (The one that comes with NWN) and open the module you want to add the Hakpack to.

Step 3:
Go to "Edit -> Module Properties" from the menu, choose the "Custom Content" tab, click the downward arrow next to the dropdown box, then choose "Stukabat" from the list that appears. Click "add", then "OK" to close the window.

Step 4:
It'll now recompile your module, when it's done close the window, save your module and close the toolset. Reopen it and load back up your module the Hakpack and its contents are now ready to use.

USING THE HAKPACK:
When creating a new NPC in the toolset, click the 'Appearance' drop down tab under 'properties', and scroll down until you find 'Stukabat' in the list then, just click 'Stukabat' and it'll take on the appearance of a Stukabat.

KNOWN ISSUES:
Included 2da file is currently not fully compatible with SoU and HotU, will fix ASAP. You can still add the model to HotU/SoU compatible modules and it will work fine and without causing issues, it's simply the 2da that comes with this hak.

CONTACTING THE AUTHOR
Complaints? Suggestions? Praise? (Praise is always welcome ^_^) - just give me a bell on any of the following

E-Mail: [email protected]
MSN: [email protected]

I can also be caught occasionally on the CODI IRC chatroom (City of Doors Initiative), although due to the fact I have no phone line I'm rarely seen playing on NWN for the time being.

[Warning, Blatant Advert]
I should probably point out I'm currently not in any position of employment, if you're looking for budding 3D modelers to fill a place on a professional
design team I'd be more than happy to hear whats on offer ^_^
