INTRODUCTION
I created this hak really for my own use in a private NWN server as my own personal character, but I always make my work publicly usable. It's basically a gold half-dragon with a lightweight tunic and kitted out with some basic adventuring gear.

Gold Dragons are the second rarest of dragonkind, second only to platinum, of which only one example is known to exist (Bahamut, God of metallic dragons, resides in Celestia). Interspecies relationships are generally frowned on anyway by dragons, and despite Gold Dragons being the most closely associating species with humanoids (They often polymorph into humanoids and walk amongst them), actual cases of coupling is very rare and can easily cost the Dragon their position in society. Gold half-dragons as you'd expect thus are the rarest half-dragon breed, they're so rare it's said Elminster himself knew of only a handful, two of which were twins.

The model is based loosely on the "Dungeons and Dragons: Chainmail" miniature, although there's some artistic license, the muzzle being a few inches longer, and having caricatured ears rather than the trademark elf-like ears. But otherwise this model has more in common with the "true look" than the NWN "Half-Dragon" models and is a very fun character to play.

INSTALLATION
Hakpack, CEP or Override?

If you're making your own non CEP module, you'll want to use the standard hakpack. If you're making a module that also uses CEP you'll want the CEP variant, and if you want to use the models in single player I'd advise you use the Override. All 3 versions are included in the zip. If you are using the override, remember the one key rule: It's all in the eye of the beholder - simply because you can see it, doesn't mean anyone else will. If you log into a local vault server people will see holes in your character and you may crash the server. You've been warned. Overrides also don't work on ALL modules.

Installing the standard Hakpack, or CEP Hakpack.

Step 1:
Copy "halfdragon.hak" and "halfdragon_CEP.hak" into the "...NeverwinterNights/Hak/" folder (Basiclly the folder called "Hak" inside your NWN directory.).

Step 2:
Load the module you want to add the hak to into the toolset. Click "Module Properties" from the menu, and click the Custom Content tab.

Step 3:
Click the dropdown box, and find either "halfdragon" or if you're using the CEP, choose "hdragon_cep" instead, click the corresponding hak, and choose "add". Click the hak in the list if there are multiple haks, and move it to the top of the list.

Step 4:
The new appearances are now listed under the appearance dropdown box in the creature editor, and the correct tail and wings in the tail and wings dropdown boxes.

Installing the Override

Step 1:
Extract everything from the "Override" folder in the zip to "...NeverwinterNight/Override/" (Your NWN override folder). And voilĂ . Installation complete, you may now create such creatures in any module without the new for a hak installation, and may use the appearance yourself.

To do this you will need Leto or similar character editor, set it to advanced mode and change the appropriate lines in the character file:

Appearance: 765
Wings: 46
Tail:24

[Warning, Blatant Advert]
I should probably point out I'm currently not in any position of employment, if you're looking for budding 3D modelers to fill a place on a professional design team I'd be more than happy to hear whats on offer ^_^

Author's Notes
Firstly I know this character isn't entirely true to DnD, it's partially because it's actually my avatar character as opposed to a regular "character" and while in name and concept it borrows after DnD Half Dragons, artistically there's some deviation.

Secondly, unusually for me - if you wish to modify this model, go for it; Reason I say this is that this model will make a great template for other half dragon species, so if you want to give it a colour shift and knock out red, blue green half dragons, then great. Credit's still appreciated for the original model, but I won't be too worried if you do it without asking me first

Lastly, it's a model by me; Did you expect it not to be very slightly cutesy and fuzzy? ^_^

Have fun.
