Permissions and credits
Description
This mod removes the player marker (arrow icon) from the map.

Installation

>>> Manually
1. Extract the "textures" folder to the Oblivion "Data" folder. The data folder is usually located at  C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Oblivion\Data

>>> With OMOD:
  • Download OMOD (Oblivion Mod Manager)
  • Download this mod, and extract the folder "No GPS Nehrim" (you find that folder inside the zipped file you downloaded)
  • Install this mod with OMOD ("Create" --> "Add Folder" --> Pick "No GPS Nehrim" --> /.../ --> Activate this mod in OMOD).

Note
  • Mod might not work if you did not install Nehrim through Steam.
  • Do NOT install this mod without unzipping/extracting it.
  • It might be possible to install this mod with Vortex or Nexus Mod manager. I have only tested installing it with OMOD and manually.
  • Before installing: You must of course set Nehrim to Active in the Nehrim launcher.

More Info
The mod that did the same thing for Oblivion does not work with Nehrim, because the file location and file name for the player marker icon was changed in Nehrim. I managed to find the new file location and file name by unpacking a BSA file in Nehrim. All I did to that .dds file was erase the texture in GIMP.

Recommended mods
  • Remove compass - Use this if you really want to make navigation more traditional. This mod is made for oblivion but works with Nehrim, at least if you install it with OMOD (installing this mod is very easy with OMOD, just download it, double click the omod file to add it to OMOD, and then select and activate it in OMOD).
