Ladies and gentlemen, it is my pleasure to present to you :
Repair Hammer Redux
This is a remake of the currently non-functional mod called "Repair Hammer", which lets you use the Sledgehammer in your garage to repair body damage inflicted on your car by sub-par driving (or actually banging on the thing with the hammer itself, but hey, no one's that crazy, right ?)
Right-click uses the hammer as usual, to bang on things, sending them flying or making naughty dents into your car's body.
=> Left-click swings the hammer and, upon touching a deformable body part of the Satsuma, restores it to pristine status. This happens little by little with every swing, at the place you're looking at when the hammer swings. The radius and strength of the repair can be tuned within the mod's settings, but the defaults are pretty sensible.
This mod is obviously very useful if you aren't an elite rally driver and don't want to splurge 15000 markas on fleetari's body repair service everytime you misjudge a corner on the way to some part of the finnish hellscape we're all stuck in.
Why you should use this mod instead of the old one :
On current versions of the game at least (at the time of me writing this), fred's version has two major problems :
1) The meshes actually wont update until you either swing the hammer normally or drive the car above a certain speed.
2) It only repairs body parts up until the state at which they were upon game load. I.e : if you load a savegame that has deformed body parts, they wont repair any further.
This mod fixes both those problems. Much obliged.
Installation :
Just copy RepairHammerRedux.dll in your Mods folder, you know, the one you use with MSCLoader and stuff.
Please make sure you know how to use MSCLoader before complaining <3
But I use Mod Loader Pro, will it still work ?
Probably. I don't care. Mod Loader Pro is useless and unmaintainted, therefore you shouldn't use it in the first place. Use MSCLoader. Or don't. I'm not your dad !
What to do if it doesn't work ?
Leave a note in the Bugs section, leaving as much details as possible.
