This is a simple workaround or "fix" to separate gunners and archers in Shokuho.

This is my "Teppo Formation Fix", it equips all gun wielding troops, both Infantry and Cavalry, with an invisible shield. This allows you to select the shield preference in the ranged formations when deploying.
This allows the formation system to class gun troops as shield units, which in turn allows you to set the formation preferences for shields and it will try its best to put all the gun troops into that formation.
Please note, this is not a major modification, it doesn't tweak the formation system itself, just allows for the preferences to work. If you have more ranged units in the shield formation than you have guns will result in archers also being thrown into the same formation.
