About this mod

A simple visual mod that fixes holsters for polearms, two handed swords and two handed axes, to make them more historically accurate and practical. If you love immersion and realism then this mod is for you.

I was always bothered by how unrealistic our characters wear their weapons in their backs and specially spears with the tip pointing up, it doesn't make any sense, it would take them a lot of time to draw them and it is not practical.

There are two version of the mod, one is the spears hanging from the shoulder like explained on this video:

Now all polearms will be holstered in the same way the guy in this video has his spear, it makes more sense and it is much more practical.
I also removed two handed swords holstering on the back because that's not historically accurate, now they are on the hip just like one handed swords, like it should be. And I didn't forget about axes, now they hang from the right shoulder of our characters with the head pointing to the ground, so it will be more practical and faster to draw ready to fight. The physics of the axe hanging are a little weird, but there is nothing I can do about that.

The spears and javelins on left hand version is more historically accurate:

For this left hand version the draw animations were changed aswell to match better the position of the weapon.

New shield position simulating a strap on the shoulder for all types of shields, (oval, round, kite, etc.)

Update 1.2.5

New Historically Accurate Seax/Dagger Position!

Take your role-playing to the next level with the introduction of a historically accurate seax/dagger holster position, now placed at the front of your character's waist. Perfect for Saxon warriors, or anyone who wants to carry a dagger with style and authenticity!
  • Showcase your status: The seax was more than just a weapon—it was a symbol of status and culture. Equip it proudly in front of your character, embodying the heritage of the Saxons or other warrior cultures.
  • Ready for emergencies: Although mostly for aesthetics, your dagger or seax will be ready at a moment's notice if the situation turns dire, and you lose your primary weapon.
  • Full immersion: Whether for role-playing or simply enhancing your character's visuals, this new position adds both historical depth and practicality to your loadout.
Never leave your seax behind again—make it a part of your journey, both as a tool and a symbol of your warrior spirit!
