NEW: Updated for 1.5.9b/1.5.8 game versions. Tested on 1.5.9b.

Your companion died in the last battle, while wearing your best armour and an incredible weapon you crafted! That gear is no longer lost to the void - you are now given a choice to willingly relinquish the gear for possible trait benefits, or heartlessly retain everything for the chance of trait penalties.

What this mod does:

When a companion dies, a text window will appear allowing you to choose to either send the companion's gear to their "family", or keep it for yourself. If you choose to retain the gear, a trading window will open, allowing you to transfer whatever you want out of their inventory.

If you relinquish their gear, you will have the chance to gain positive traits (with a chance depending on the total value of gear you're losing out on) - if you keep it, the opposite occurs.

Current Features:
- Grave digging for dead members of your clan (retroactive douchery is possible now!), courtesy of kz14365.
- You are given the option to take equipment from heros you personally kill (eg. executed enemy lords).
- A settings XML file, so you can adjust scaling however you want!

Check out my other mods HERE, including:
  • Succession, which changes up the standard vanilla ruling-clan election system for kingdom- and culture-specific priorities!
  • Attributes Matter, which gives gameplay bonuses for attribute scores, so your new heroes can be more useful than normal soldiers.
  • Sergeants for Hire, which allows you to hire Sergeant units from towns to increase your party size. This mod takes advantage of Harmony PostFix and reflection libraries to be compatible even if you're using another mod that overrides the default party size function!
  • Distinguished Service

, which opens up an entirely new pipeline for gaining companions, and works incredibly well with this mod!
