About this mod

Removes the faction name from troop names in all troop trees. Ex: "Vlandian Banner Knight" simply becomes "Banner Knight." This makes multiple kingdoms sharing troops trees less awkward (i.e. civil wars or Separatism) and makes mixed armies feel more immersive.

Do you strongly dislike that all troops in native Bannerlord have their faction before their names? Is your immersion broken when your mercenary company is full of troops from other kingdoms' professional armies? Do you want to run an army of mixed troops and hate being reminded that you run an army of mutts?

Well then
Factionless Troops is the mod for you!

Factionless Troops is a troop name overhaul created with immersion in mind. At its heart, the main purpose of this mod is simply to remove the cultural modifier from the beginning of troop names, and the original troop name is otherwise preserved where possible. However, there are a number of instances where multiple troops have the same name or where it would be less immersive to keep the original name. In these cases, I have changed the troop names to unique names for each troop tree, being careful to keep the names as true to the flavor of the original faction as possible while still keeping them "generic" enough to fit into any army. Now you can keep an army of Fian Champions, Banner Knights, and Heavy Horse Archers and not feel even a little bit weird about it. No longer will TaleWorlds' rigid game design impede your haphazard style of play!

This mod does not alter the look, equipment, or skills of any troops. The sole purpose of Factionless Troops is to modify troop names to make mixed-army playthroughs more immersive and to make multiple kingdoms sharing troop trees less awkward. This mod will be incompatible with any other mod that alters the vanilla troops.

Tested on 1.5.7 and 1.5.8, but should work regardless of version.

Have fun,
