About this mod

This mod prevents all towns’ prosperity from falling below a configurable threshold.

Recent changes to the game have imperiled the prosperity of towns across Calradia. AI lords do not manage their settlement issues or take any steps to mitigate food shortages. This can lead to many towns circling the drain as their prosperity enters a death spiral. This mod can prevent that by keeping every town’s prosperity from sinking below a user specified floor.

The mod will look at a town’s prosperity and if it falls below the threshold value it will increase it by 100. The default value for the prosperity floor is 2000. You can configure the mod to your liking and set the floor value yourself. The mod will accept any value between 1000 and 8000. Values below 1000 are pretty useless and values over 8000 are pretty extreme. Keep in mind that higher prosperity can cause food shortages in the town. Out of range values will be ignored and the default of 2000 will be used.

The configuration file can be found at:
\Modules\TownProsperityFloor\bin\Win64_Shipping_Client\TownProsperityFloor.txt

Just change the value to the right of the equal sign to set a new floor. If the file is missing or invalid the default value of 2000 will be used.

Version 2.0 Update: In my current campaign I found several castles that have ZERO prosperity and a prosperity growth rate of negative one. In general, prosperity values that low aren’t recoverable in any reasonable time frame. In one case the castle never regained any prosperity at all. The mod has been updated to put a floor under castle prosperity, just as it does for towns. The default value used for the new castle floor is 400. The prosperity growth rate for castles is 25 per day. The new floor value has been added to the adjustment file as CastleProsperityFloor. The valid range of values for CastleProsperityFloor is 100 to 1000 inclusive.

Save Game Safe!
You can add and remove this mod at any time. It does not save any data to the save file. It can be added to an existing game. If you remove the mod the prosperity of the town’s will slowly sink back to their normal level.

Compatibility With Other Mods
This mod does not use harmony or change any game code. It adds an extension module to the game that runs silently in the background. It is unlikely to conflict with other mods or future updates to the game.
