Veles is a light infantry and skirmishers unit who are armed with a number of javelins. Velites are the youngest and usually the poorest soldiers in the legion, and could rarely afford much equipment. They were typically used as a screening force, driving off enemy skirmishers and disrupting enemy formations with javelin throws before retiring behind the lines. The velites were placed at the front of the army, so that the velites had the chance to prove themselves and win glory by seeking out single combat with an enemy. This is also why they wore highly identifiable wolfskin headdresses.

Aserai Troop Tree:

Masaesyli troops
The troops are historically accurate for the most part and I've tried my best to depict them according to it.
Spoiler:
Show

  1.Numidian Cavalry (Tier 4)
Numidian Cavalry was a type of light cavalry developed by the Numidians. After they were used by Hannibal during the Second Punic War, they were described by the Roman historian Livy as "by far the best horsemen in Africa.". Due to their expert horsemanship and agility, as well as their lack of armor or heavy weaponry, they were most suitable for harassing tactics, charging in loose formation and lobbing their javelins before wheeling off to escape the enemy's counterattack. This harassing tactic, while rarely decisive, could be extremely frustrating to a less mobile enemy, as experienced by Julius Caesar's soldiers during the latter's invasion of Africa. At the same time they were generally unable to stand their ground against heavier types of cavalry.
Equipped with javelins, a small round shield and a shamshir.
  2.Numidian Armoured Cavalry (Tier 5)
This unit is trying to complement to the cavalry, having better armor than the original troop.

Other units:

  1.Aserai Camel Skirmisher (Tier 4)
Camels have a number of advantages over horses: although notorious for their questionable temperament, they can be docile when handled correctly, and are generally less nervous. As desert creatures, camels also have greater stamina and can endure long periods without water. Also, when faced by conventional cavalry, the size and odour of camels caused horses to back away from fights.
Equipped with javelins, a shield and a shamshir.
  2.Aserai Camel Archer (Tier 5)
The invention of the north Arabian saddle in the 4th century BC made controlling them considerably easier and conveyed another advantage; the steady, elevated position of the saddle enabled an archer to scan the battlefield and pick off targets with some ease.
Equipped with a bow and a shamshir, in case of close combat.
3.Aserai Royal Camel Archer (Tier 6)
This is the best type of Camel Archer, equipped with top armor, a better bow and an engraved shamshir.
4.Aserai Cataphract Horse Archer (Tier 6)

  7.Aserai Lightseeker Mameluke (Tier 6)
This unit began as a slave warrior, and as he rose up the ranks of the army, he doesn't know yet when he will escape the fate of being enslaved, now being one of the best troops, he is still pursuing the light of freedom.

Vlandia Troop Tree:

European Medieval Troops
The troops are historically accurate for the most part and I've tried my best to depict them according to it.
Vlandians don't have much variety in armour currently in the game, as it is still early access.
We can say that after getting used to being in a kingdom's army, the Swiss and German mercenaries began to wear proper armour.
Spoiler:
Show

  1.Vlandian Doppelsoldner (Tier 4) (German)
Doppelsoldner ("double-mercenaries", "double-pay men", from German doppel- meaning double, sold meaning pay) were Landsknechte in 16th-century Germany who volunteered to fight in the frontline, taking on extra risk, in exchange for double payment. Landsknechte schooled in the use of the Zweihander (two-hander), a two-handed sword, were entitled to double pay and thus qualified as Dopplesoldner.
2.Vlandian Veteran Doppelsoldner (Tier 5) (German)
A doppelsoldner that has begun to adapt to the fact that he is now part of the kingdom's army, and is now wearing some proper armour.
  3.Vlandian Landsknecht (Tier 6) (German)
A most experienced doppelsoldner that has completely adapted, and is now equipped with heavy armour and his Zweihander.
  4.Vlandian Reislaufer (Tier 6) (Swiss)
Swiss mercenaries (Reislaufer) were notable for their service in foreign armies. Their service as mercenaries was at its peak during the Renaissance, when their proven battlefield capabilities made them sough-after mercenary troops. Reislaufer were valued throughout Late Medieval Europe for the power of their determined mass attack in deep columns with the halberd.
5.Vlandian Tercio Pikeman (Tier 6) (Spanish)
Tercio pikemen are well renowned, highly disciplined professional pike troops with a fierce reputation. These pikemen are superior fighters equipped with a pike and protected by good armour. Able to present a wall of deadly pikes at oncoming enemies, this unit will give any charging cavalry second thoughts.
  6.Vlandian Gendarme (Tier 6) (French)
A gendarme was a heavy cavalryman. French Gendarmes enjoyed a stellar reputation and were regarded as the finest European heavy cavalry force. They provided the Kings of France with a potent regular force of armored lancers which, when properly employed, dominated the battlefields.
  7.Vlandian Rodelero (Tier 5) (Spanish)
Rodeleros ("shield bearers"), also called espadachines ("swordsmen") and colloquially known as "Sword and Buckler Men", were Spanish troops in the early 16th century, equipped with shields known as rodela and swords.
  8.Vlandian Condottiero (Tier 6) (Italian)
Condottieri were Italian captains in command of mercenary companies during the Middle Ages and multinational armies. They notably served European monarchs and Popes during the Italian Wars of the Renaissance and the European Wars of Religion. The term condottiero in medieval Italian originally meant "contractor", given that the condotta was the contract by which the condottieri put themselves in the service of a city or of a lord, but became a synonym of "military leader" during the Renaissance and Reformation era. Equipped with unique Condottiero sword.
9.Vlandian Yeoman Archer (Tier 3) (British)
The yeoman comprised a military class or status (usually known as in the third order of the fighting class, between squire and page). By contrast, in contemporary feudal continental Europe, the divide between commoners and gentry was far wider: though a middle class existed, it was less esteemed than the yeoman of England of that time. The 'yeoman archer' was unique to England and Wales (in particular, the south Wales areas of Monmouthshire with the famed archers of Gwent; and Glamorgan, Crickhowell etc). The original Yeomen of the Guard (originally archesr) are mostly of Brittonic descent, including Welshmen and Bretons.
10.Vlandian Yeoman Veteran Archer (Tier 4) (British)
A more experienced archer and being equipped with a better armour.
  11.Vlandian Longbowman (Tier 5) (British)
The Longbowman is an archer of England and Wales, boasting long range and a rapid rate of fire. These archers are often instrumental for Briton victory. Longbowmen work best in a group. While a single Longbowman doesn't present much of a threat, a group can be a deadly force as they can mow down opposing forces from long range before they can even attack. Equipped with the British longbow.
12.Vlandian Elite Longbowman (Tier 6) (British)

An elite longbowman with the best of skill in regards to bowmanship, they are not to be fiddled with.

Other units:
Spoiler:

  1.Vlandian Deadeye (Tier 6)
An excellent crossbowman, equipped with better armour and skills.
2.Vlandian Templar Knight (Tier 6) (Jerusalem)

The Templars were a Catholic military order headquartered on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. They became a favoured charity throughout Christendom and grew rapidly in membership and power. Templar knights were among the most skilled fighting units of the Crusades. The Templars were closely tied to the Crusades; when the Holy Land was lost, support for the order faded. Rumours about the Templars' secret initiation ceremony created distrust, and King Philip IV of France took advantage of this distrust to destroy them and erase his debt to them. He had many of the order's members in France arrested, tortured and burned at the stake. Soon, the order was disbanded due to the pressure. The abrupt reduction in power of a significant group in European society gave rise to speculation, legend, and legacy through the ages.

Mercenary Troop Tree:
Spoiler:
Show

Currently, there's only one new mercenary added.
1.Ronin (Tier 5) -- upgrades from Mercenary Swordsman
A ronin is a samurai without a lord or master. A samurai became masterless upon the death of his master or after the loss of his master's favor or privilege. Because the former samurai could not legally take up a new trade, or because of pride were loathe to do so, many ronin looked for other ways to make a living with their swords. Those ronin who desired steady, legal employment became mercenaries that guarded trade caravans, or bodyguards for wealthy merchants.

Unique Items:
Spoiler:
Show

  1.Katana
A katana is a Japanese sword characterized by a curved, single-edged blade with a circular or squared guard and long grip to accommodate two hands. It was used by the samurai of ancient and feudal Japan.
  2.Wakizashi
The wakizashi is one of the traditionally made Japanese swords worn by the samurai in feudal Japan.
The wakizashi being worn together with the katana was the official sign that the wearer was a samurai or swordsman. When worn together the pair of swords were called daisho which translates literally as "big-little". The katana was the "big" or long sword and the wakizashi the "little" or companion sword.
  3.Naginata
Naginata is a pole weapon and one of several varieties of traditionally made Japanese blades. Naginata were originally used by the samurai class of feudal Japan, as well as by ashigaru (foot soldiers) and sohei (warrior monks).
  4.Sankaku Yari (triangle spear)
Sankaku yari have a point that resembles a narrow spike with a triangular cross-section. A sankaku yari therefore had no cutting edge, only a sharp point at the end. The sankaku yari was therefore best suited for penetrating armor, even armor made of metal, which a standard yari was not as suited to.
  5.Throwing Two Handed Axe
A throwing axe is a weapon used during the Middle Ages by foot soldiers and occasionally knight. Usually, they are thrown in an overhand motion in a manner that causes the axe to rotate as it travels through the air. So, I thought it's safe to assume they also threw their heavier two handed axes. Even if it might not be historically accurate, it's still fun.
  6.Roman Gladius
Gladius was one Latin word for sword, and is used to represent the primary sword of Ancient Roman foot soldiers.
  7.Pilum
Pilum was a javelin commonly used by the Roman army in ancient times.
Legionaries of the late republic
and early empire often carried two pila, with one sometimes being lighter than the other. Standard tactics called for Roman soldiers to throw one of them (both if time permitted) at the enemy, just before charging to engage with the gladius; however, it was argued that the Roman infantry could use the pilum at any stage in the fighting.
  8.Shamshir
A shamshir is a type of Persian/Iranian sword with a radical curve. The name is derived from the shamīr, which means "lion's fang" in the Persian language.
  9.Zweihander
The Zweihander is a large two-handed sword primarily in use during the 16th century. Zweihander swords developed from the longswords of the Late Middle Ages and became the hallmark weapon of the German Landsknechte.
  10.Swiss Halberd
A halberd is a two-handed pole weapon that came to prominent use during the 14th, 15th and 16th centuries. The word halberd is most likely equivalent to the German word Hellebarde, deriving from Middle High German halm (handle) and barte (battleaxe) joint to helmbarte. Troops that used the weapons are called halberdiers. The halberd was inexpensive to produce and very versatile in battle. As the halberd was eventually refined, its point was more fully developed to allow it to better deal with spears and pikes (and make it able to push back approaching horsemen), as was the hook opposite the axe head, which could be used to pull horsemen to the ground.
  11.Templar Knight Sword
  12.Western Sword
  13.Condottiero Sword

Compatibility:

Spoiler:
Show

-Mods that redesign commoners tree faction troops aren't compatible.
-Mods that redesign NPCs are sometimes also editing the vanilla troops such as Noble Nobles, for now, adding that mod will only make the Ronin troop from the Mercenary Troop Tree unavailable.
-It should be fine to use the mod in your current campaigns as I will not remove any of the current troops. BUT if your save used to have my troops in it and you removed them, your game will crash. So, keep in mind to backup your saves!
-Mods that redesign noble tree faction troops but also use commoners tree faction troops can be made compatible, you have to manually add in the <upgrade_target> of their troops the ID for my units.
-To make my mod compatible with BannerPeasants make sure my mod loads after so it overwrites the troops whilst still adding the banner to the vanilla troops. (like this)
Fixed Launcher mod sorts my mod to load before, so if your load order isn't like this, the mod will not work properly. So, make sure after you sort your mods with it whenever you add a mod, to place it under.
-If you want to use the companions without this mod, edit the XML spspecialcharacters and edit the
battleTemplate to a npc target of your wish (e.g. battleTemplate="NPCCharacter.sturgian_warrior")

Notes:

-This mod requires a new game for the companions to spawn. I recommend using the Companion Hoarder mod to ensure every companion spawns.
-Always backup your save before installing any mod.
-NPC lords also use the troops.
-I am going to also keep adding new companions based on some of the troops with their unique backstories.

Companions made possible with drdanzel's Bannerlord Wanderer Creator tool.
