    BUGS AND ISSUES.

    Please be aware I am not a modder, I am self taught so please be aware I have the grasps of what I have uploaded but I will not be able to answer more technical related questions, apologies in advance.

    Please check bug section for a known issue I can't sort, my sincere apologies, just beyond my limited ability.

    I don't find where recruit viking soldier , i don't have new kingdom in the map.... i use consol to give me Revyl but no viking there

      Mmmm, I assume you have dropped the folder into the M+B master and overwritten the "settlements.xml" (make a back-up first). I believe you have done something wrong with the install as I have changed the name of "Revyl" to "Jorvik", and if you had overwritten the files correctly "Revyl" would not even show.

      I have just downloaded the file myself and overwritten my save and it runs fine.

      i found my problem , i put patch FR ( french ) and change name ... i love so much your mod! :)

      No problem its an awesome mod! I had the same problem as well, so I formed an alliance with the new kingdoms & sturgia , ig I can utilize them to attack the empire from the northern borders while attack from the east and form the united kingdoms of Danelaw!

    how do you recruit the units I dont understand the castles you say to annex through the console to recruit the viking units from do not exist for me i cannot see them on the map and the console does not recognize them when i try to annex them though console what am i supposed to do is my load wrong?

      Mmmmm, didn't think of that I am going to have a play around and see if I can sort if not, what I suggest is load the previous version with the old names, annex etc, then if you want the new names update to latest, sorry about this.

      Sorted, seems to be load order of mods, I moved developer console to the bottom started a new game and it annexed fine, also note you need to annex the name you have on the map, either Revyl (before name change) or Jorvik if you have updated, fingers crossed it works for you, thanks for downloading and stay safe.

      im also using the telepathy mod and the training tweak mod dont think that should matter tho

      I have shield maidens, called "Skaldmaer" it's in my next change to make the lvl 26 instead of 21:). Thanks for downloading and the thumbs up, very much appreciated, last but not least stay safe:).

      oh nice i just tried to update to the latest version but ended up braking my game am validating steam files now any idea what i did to brake it

      Please see the read me about the optional files, my game is running smooth as silk, you only need the core and the settlements. If you have updated previously make sure that the extra files in the optional folders are reverted to original. As I have stated these are just to sort some strings etc and not a must to run it.

      As it says in the read me they are optional, not required to run mod.

    I really dont understand why you feel like you need involve women into this mod.
    It will be pretty OK without them.

      It's a personnel choice, as I said women are mentioned in the sources I have read so to me only fair, easy to remove them so shouldn't be hard for you.

      no - its not the better question - its a typical ideological question.
      there are just one reason for add womens (the specific desire to add them - for ideological or personal reasons) - but many obvious reasons for don't - reasons that are so obvious that asking for them is just obsolete

      Never, is a bit to definite, I read this and a few other bits and bobs and whilst I agree there is no definitive proof to say they did exist, there is none to say they didn't. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shield-maiden, this quotes two scholars one on each side of the debate.

      Saying that though, did or didn't is irrelevant to me its a game, if people don't want ladies in the game remove them, peoples choice.

      actually thats a common misconception caused by Viking Fantasy works.
      the idea of the "Shield Maiden" was simply that women who stayed at home would need to defend themselves in the case of a raid from other vikings.
      also the Valkyrie was NEVER a fighting woman, even in myth, her roll was to take fallen men and welcome them to Valhalla.
      its fine to include Shields Maidens as we have maybe like 1 or 2 cases of finding female bodies buried with shields though i would point out that its EXTREMELY rare to find and in those cases, its more likely that they had been buried with the shield of their husband to protect them in the next life.

      It's a mod if u don't like why not just click on another page and find a different mod or create your own? We didn't live back in 500 ad so contrary to popular belief or whatever piece of paper you read that said women never fought with the norse... u weren't there to witness it. People get too butt hurt over lil thingz. The storyline you created in your campaign isn''t the same as Reynard's so make your own vision if you really don't like the one infront of u -_- .. Shout out to Reynardcole for furthering my story of Urik Olekkson :D

      I am no expert but I believe it will not work as you can't select "Viking" as your core culture. I assume the influence spread will be based on one of the core cultures and as mine is not a core culture and you can't select then I believe not.

      However, If the spread is based on the owning culture of the town itself, then again I assume if the game is recognising the "Viking" culture it may spread?, but I can't see this being the case because, lets say an empire faction captured a city in middle of Khuzait land the influence would not spread as all the surrounding towns would be the same culture as the town itself? Hope I explained that right, sounded plausible in my head but reading it back its as clear as mud!

      Might be worth asking the person who wrote the other mod how the mechanic works, or just start a fresh game and see how it goes.

    how did you solve all the crashes with custom cultures? I have been stuck for weeks trying to solve the crashes with tournaments.

      To be honest my friend as I say I just utilized the work of others and adapted, I would love to be able to give you the answer but alas seems as if I just got lucky, sorry I can't be more help. Saying that I haven't even tried to join a tournament in the modded city?

      Again apologize for not being more helpful. If there is anything in mine that can help you please feel free to tinker with it.

      Your mod looks fantastic, not looking to take mine any further, happy with it as is, will just tinker as I go.

      There are things I would like to do but it involves coding etc, way beyond my level, took me ages to get this far, I'm too old and grumpy to start learning to code:). Ideally I looked into culture swap of a settlement after so long occupied, so for example you conqueror a coastal town, and say after so long culture shifts to viking, if you loose it shifts back, this would work lovely with "Revolutions Mod", but as I say I can't invest the time to learn coding etc.

      Thanks for the thumbs up though, in 50 years this is the first time I have ever modded something and posted it, chuffed as punch its hit 300 downloads:)

      If you are asking where are the lvl 6 archers there isn't any as the basic troop is lvl 6 with an infantry and archer lvl 11 branching off.

      I honestly haven't tried it, I believe it should be ok but you may have to wait until old units are taken out of recruitment to be replaced by new.

    Firstly, nice work!

    "Úlfhéðinn (plural Úlfhéðnar) is an Old Norse term for a warrior with attributes parallel to those of a berserker , but with a lupine aspect rather than ursine; both terms refer to a special type of warrior capable of performing feats far beyond the abilities of normal people."

    I think it would be cool to have both the berserker and the ulfhednar as two choices for tier 6 (the berserker with a focus on power over athletics and the ulfhednar with a focus on athletics over power)

      Thanks for thumbs up my friend, I take on board what you say, as far as I am aware you can only have 2 upgrades from each soldier, so you could amend this easily by removing the Bannerman and making the "Ulf" and "Bers" up gradable from the Huskarl. As to your point on the different aspects of each I agree, in what I have read, one was as you say wolf (lupine) and one bear.

    I havent tried it out yet but can i ise your mod as a template for adding new cultures? I remember reading about how hammerlord was struggling to add new cultures in.
