MY GAME VERSION

1.4.1 Beta.

WORK IN PROGRESS

Looking to add a new culture for Veborg Faction towns and villages combining Viking and Aserai cultures to try to emulate the conquest of a new culture and the need to rely on local troops as well as settlers/troops native to homeland.

THE MOD ITSELF

If you like your troops to look smart and uniform, this is not for you. Lots of fur, leather and chain.

I have found a way using "command console" to rule your own Viking Kingdom. What I have done is added two Viking Kingdoms to the game, with new troops, culture, villagers, barmaids etc etc. All the troops are recruit-able within the kingdoms. You can now rule a Viking Kingdom, join a Viking Kingdom or maybe start a crusade to destroy the Viking scourge?

The mod is not super balanced, will be tweaking as and when I come across anything.

Bottom line I am interested in the Viking culture and history and wanted to try as best as possible to recreate it in the game. I hope you enjoy and thanks for taking the time to download or just read this.

Last but not least please all stay safe.

PLEASE SEE THE READ ME UNDER THE DOCS TAB ABOVE AS I HAVE CHANGED A LOT SINCE  I STARTED THIS.

SETTLEMENTS

I have made various Towns and Castles Viking culture  and this is where you can recruit.

CAVALRY

Most of the reading I have done suggested Vikings very rarely fought on horse back, using horses to get around and then dis-mounting before the fight. Viking cavalry are just infantry on horses, don't expect Viking horse archers!

INFANTRY

Again, most of the reading I have seen suggests swords were very rare, Spears (including throwing variety) being the main weapon along with axes. Bows were also very popular. As to armor, metal armor was very expensive so lower tier troops only use leather varieties with mail kicking in later. Weapon wise you will find a lot of spears including the throwing variety and axes. Berserkers in 3 tiers are present wolf, boar and bear varieties. There is mention of the fairer sex being involved in fighting so I have tried to represent this by making the archer arm lady orientated as well as a sword infantry tree to mix up troop varieties. I have also added various other troops. Jomsviking are included who were a clan of mercenary vikings.

Its also worth mentioning I have included anything from 5-10 varieties of each of the troop types, I like my troops to be random, fits I think with Vikings as in the reading I have done there was no real formal army layout.

NOTE:

If you are having issues getting the recruits to show etc try messing with the mod load order.
