    For anyone interested.

I'm planning on a lite overhaul of all factions in the game. This will also include a second line for the noble trees, including Battania. So my question is, what would you rather?

    a. Noble cavalry? I'm not sure how I might tackle this one tbh, a lot of the niches for noble cavalry already exist. At the same time, I reckon the role of heavy cavalry suits nobility best in Battanian society. I'd turn Outriders back into Mounted Skirmishers, maybe give them more javelins.

    b. Melee infantry? I feel like Fian Champions already represent the two handers, speed and archer that form Battania's infantry strengths. Not sure about this one either in terms of equipment, although I'd probably give them throwing weapons. If I do these guys, I'd probably add a t4 cavalry to Battania, and get rid of the t3 archers to maintain a consistent number of troop choices.

I just fixed up the partytemplate.xml file. Try it out now and see if the issue has been resolved.

Which version of the mod did you install? There's a good chance you'll need to use an earlier version of the mod. Unfortunately, the latest 1.3 compatible version of the mod has issues thanks to my needless tampering.

      The latest version.
Ok, so I will wait till TW releases next patch and you release an update.
I hate the idea of using older version, and also I like your mod more then alternates.
Please keep it updated! Great job.

As long as I'm interested in modding, I'll do what I can to keep this mod updated.

      Appreciate your kind words!

Can't figure out for the life of me the problem, but this mod crashes the moment I either enter battle or use alt to check party compositions with any troops changed by this. Checked to see if any conflicts by making this the only mod running and same issue. Going to check with another troop overhaul to see if it's a universal issue.

I had a similar issue at first, but I got around it by loading the mod last. Have you tried that out? If not, it could be a conflict, or something I really need to get to.

Yeah, I've run it last with other mods and as also as the only mod running and same issue. Tried a different troop mod to see if I had similar results and it worked fine. Putting it before everything got rid of the crash but buggered up the troop tree. I'm starting a new game each time so my next guess is to try it with an already established game.

Edit: So I enabled the mod on another save and checked to see if I had the same issue. It seems like it's working so far with a week in game testing. Some lords had upgraded their troops to your changes, so either the mod really doesn't like it when you start a new game with it, or I haven't enough time in game to spawn the problem.

I'll try get to the bottom of it, but I've been slowly working on another mod project. Might be best for me to get back to this one and work out the issue.

I'd also like to report this is happening on the 1.3.1 version of the mod, and if you do manage to figure out a fix, I'd appreciate it if you update the older one also, as I have not moved on to the new builds due to so many of my other mods not playing well with 1.4.X

I'll see what I can do for 1.3.1. Opting out of the beta is taking a while, so I can't test it. But if you'd like, I can send what I have for you to try out.

I tried to reverse engineer it from the 1.4.X version, but I noticed you changed some of the troop IDs from _new to _hmj, which now crashes the game due to the troop IDs of the previous version being _new. This is going to be rough. I'm going to have restore to the broken IDs, remove them from my save some how, and then reload them with the new IDs.

Piece of advise from my limited experience, don't change troop IDs between versions of your mod, it will break any previous saves using the old IDs.

Do you by chance still have your original version you first uploaded? I think your first version is the one I started with and the crashes started after I updated to the your May 13th update. Did you happen to change the IDs for some of the units between your original and the first update? Because that would definitely be the cause of this weird crash.

Game's trying to find troops that aren't there and then crashing when it can't. And since my campaign has been going for a while, every troop that has had a changed ID are now little landmines in all the AI parties that recruited or trained them. I managed to purge my own party of the affected units, but unfortunately there's no way to fix the other parties afaik.

I did indeed change the IDs around... fuck. My bad, won't do that again.

Still, lemme get you a version that might work. Again, I have not tested out yet and I do not have access to my PC right, but I give you what I've made.

I understand, it's an honest mistake, and I still appreciate the work you put into making this mod. I think as long as I can get the original troop IDs, I can Frankenstein my copy of your mod to work by just creating clones of a troop using each of the IDs so the game can just load up the parties using different IDs. I wouldn't recommend this method for other folks, but I'm personally willing to accept the clutter.

What are the odds of adding in the new shield designs from 1.4.1?

Its a certainty. Right now though I'm just trying to get my bearings around the new changes. I could be silly, but I prefer Fian Champions to be really strong, so those might be changed back. I think while I'm at it, I'll try fix up the meshes too- I think the iron reinforced shield and bronze one got mixed around.

Rad. I like Fians to be strong as well, especially since they're the only non-mounted noble units.

It's a possibility. But then again, Khan's Guard exist. They got all the bow skill of the Fian, while wielding glaives on horse back. Still, I think I'll check to be sure.
