This mod is obsolete. It's been obsolete for quite some time. I could have sworn that I had hidden it, but here is still is.

Use this mod instead:
Make Everything Cheaper

It does armor and all other equipment too.

################## OBSOLETE MOD DO NOT USE #######################

This mod represents my attempt to rebalance armor prices in Bannerlord. The armor in the vanilla game is priced using some kind of exponential price curve. By the time you get to the top tier items the prices are, in my opinion, completely ridiculous. If the armor was really that expensive it would be impossible to equip an army with it.

What I have done is reprice all of the armor in the game using a quadratic growth curve in place of the exponential one. I developed a formula to reprice all of the armor items based on the items total armor protection. The prices do curve upwards towards the high end, they just don't get to be so extreme.

The idea of taking two weeks or more to do all the editing required seemed like a non-starter. What I ended up doing was writing a small utility program in C# to do all of the work for me. The program loads the entire spitems.xml file and then creates an XML patch file that can be applied to the game. I also added a scaling factor so I can make more than one set of armor price data. When the spitem.xml file is updated by Taleworlds I can just run the program against the new file to create a new version of the mod.

There are five different armor price mod files that you can choose from. They range from very cheap prices to very expensive prices. I use the average armor price mod in my own game.

This mod does not affect save game data in any way. You can add or remove the mod at any time. If you are unhappy with the armor price changes removing the mod will restore everything back to the way it was.

This mod will conflict with any mod that changes armor in the spitems.xml file. It will not cause any crashing, but the mod that loads last is the one who's changes will show up in game.

One note about armor pricing, horse armor in particular. The game sometimes inflates prices over their base value. I think it has something to do with the games economy making items cheaper or more expensive.

You also need to consider that your trade skill directly affects item prices. The prices that you see in the images I provided are with a trade skill of 150 in version 1.3 of the game on the stable branch. If your trade skill is zero your prices will be considerably higher.

I made this mod for myself and I thought that some of you might find it useful. I am going to make a separate mod for shields and bows. I think I have found a way to do melee weapons as well, but their craftable nature makes their pricing much harder to calculate.
