Greetings Warriors!

I am very pleased to present a preview of the lore for the Calradian Empire in our upcoming total overhaul mod: "Shattered Imperium (Calradian Reforms - Definitive Edition)"

In the year 952, the Calradian Empire finds itself in a state of crisis. The warlord Osric Iron-Arm has conquered the western provinces, sacking the old capital of Baravenos and driving thousands of imperial citizens from their lands. Simultaneously, a general of the eastern provinces has seceded from imperial rule, leading the eastern legions in open rebellion.

Amidst these disasters, the death of the emperor Themestios Comnos in battle has divided the senate, with factions forming around the old emperor's young heir and family, and those senators of the western provinces, with many wishing for a stronger leader from another family to take the imperial throne. Named as successor by a slim margin of senatorial supporters, the Empress Helenea now acts as regent for her young son Jamanys, until he comes of age. However, with a senatorial secession plot now ripping the remaining western provinces away, and threats closing on all sides, it remains to be seen if the empire survives long enough for the young emperor to rule in his own right...
