About this image

Hello there,

Thank you for clicking on the preview of Calradia Expanded - Kingdoms. This preview shows the Towns and who will be owning what in this upcoming mod. This mod brings the total major Kingdoms to 16. Before people comment, yes, its not official lore friendly, but none of Calradia Expanded has ever been due to adding in and moved settlements around. In our testing we have yet to see any snowballing, in part due to the extra Kingdoms and also from the new troop trees created for every Kingdom by Basileus (ThresherMaw on Nexus from the Complete Troop Overhaul mod). Most credit goes to Gauner who has done a wonderful job of sorting the code for this project and putting up with my own ramblings.

Releasing soon™.

Backstory Blurb
In this Calradia Expanded Universe (CEU) the Apolssalians have come from the south west, a group of discontents that wanted their own Kingdom. Lead by the general Alexandros they have conquered part of the Aserai lands. At the same time the Lyrions arrived from the east and took by force lands from the embattled Aserai.

Meanwhile in the north a bitter civil war between the Boyars has torn the fragile alliance of Sturgia in half. The Nordlings (Named such in case TaleWorlds add in Nords there won't be conflicts) are led by Raganvad who has turned to roots of the North and embraced the more Nordic ways. Strugia are attempting to hold onto the lands they have under Olek of the Kuloving. Meanwhile before the civil war broke out the Sturgians had conquered into the Battanian lands, however when the war broke out these areas instead broke free of Sturgia and now call themselves the Vagir.

Vlandia has seen perhaps the most amount of change, story wise they saw a great deal of success following the death of the Emperor Drosios and pushed deep into the Empire lands. The furthest reaches being Saneopa, however, as they expanded troubles brewed and they found themselves over stretched and half the nobles rebelled, tired of Dertherts rule and how he was giving land to his friends rather than the most deserving. As such Ingalther has led a separatist movement against Derthert and claimed all lands north of the Trand river as their own. To compound Dertherts woes during the chaos and confusion the once indigenous Paleic people of the empire lands have united and risen up in rebellion, the former mayors declaring themselves lords of the land.

In the Khuzait lands they have also reached a boiling point between Monchug and Mesui. Monchug, always one for more conquest and further attacking of the other Kingdoms, came to blows against Mesui who wanted to settle their lands and recover from their wars. As such Mesui has led a rebellion and claimed lands to the south and forced Monchug to the north.

In the Empire the civil war has progressed with Rhagaea crowning herself Empress and renaming the south to the Calradian Empire, as if a name and title would solve the issue. The Western Empire however still dreams of a united Empire once more and continues the fight for unification. The once Northern Empire has renamed itself the Dryatician Republic and hopes the republic ways of old will save them from the chaos of all consuming war.

The smallest of the new Kingdoms is the Ariorum. A trade based town on the largest island of inland sea. This island was won in a game of chance between Porphalios and Emperor Drosios who had amounted a large amount of debt over the years to the Serapides family. The island settled the debt and allowed them to form their own neutral kingdom there which turned into a rich trade hub between north and south.

Backstory is subject to change and so on as its a work in progress

Will it be compatible with Eagle Rising?

Might be, not sure as both edit the Empire troop trees and bits. It might be alright if Eagle Rising is loaded after Kingdoms.

Hopefully a fan or the people from Eagle Rising will make a patch or something if needed. Regardless, this looks awesome.

I am curious how do you prevent Ariorum from just loosing their only town relatively early on? Seems like that could be very likely to happen

Magic, or at least Gauner has done some magic within the coding that works for now.

I know it's a little crazy, but suggestions are free.
Broadly speaking, many of the factions are similar, but in spirit they are different for the player's start or background.
Just as in the realms tab, there will be the possibility of fighting among them (I take it for granted), I would like to have a new campaign creator to match, that is, to be able to choose among all these culture instead of the 6 common ones.
The options would be very similar whether from the Empire or Paleician. But there are subtle differences.
I guess it would be a level up to be able to change that culture menu at the beginning of the campaign, but it would be very rewarding!

      Hello Jovechiere,
Yup, we got that in the game. Problem is getting art for it as I love the effect that TaleWorlds have for that menu. A friend of mine has made one for us so we'll use it to see how it looks and what feedback we get from it is like before either commissioning her to make more or making them another way.

The technique of large images is easy, they are 4 images superimposed one on top of the other with a slight displacement to simulate depth.
If you need more art for any of the cultures, I will be glad to help.

Hey, do you guys need some working with the flags? I did some work myself with the CBU pack for the Shattered world. If y'all need some help or would like to add that to your mod pls contact me
Also, some flags were taken from Reddit, but I make new ones too.

Looks great! Are you still going to be supporting your vanilla Calradia Expanded too, or will this now be the primary mod?

They will both be supported as we know some won't want the above but some will still want to carry on with Calradia Expanded.

So two mods, one for Kingdoms and one for standard.
