I've tried to download this a couple times, and honestly, i'm rather dissapointed. The installer keeps freezing when extracting from SceneObj, meaning the install doesn't work.

    EDIT

After I canceled the installer, it "worked", but the game was VERY dissapointing.

In addition to not being able to recruit ANYONE into your party after a good hour playing, items also are so expensive you HAVE to cheat to get anything. There are no villages, all area's are towns, and they only have 23 people guarding, meaning you can easily take them with just your hero.

Overall, a VERY buggy mod, and really not worth the download

So making constructive criticism is now trolling?

No wonder this thing is dead.

Personally the installer worked fine by me, but the rest of it was more dubious. Periodic crashes during transitions meant I got kicked out A Lot. Unlike the poster above, I actually could find and recruit heroes, but their lack of customization is problematic. Ditto the lack of a "crib sheet" like the original versions have where you can easily pull up a list of places and people to find them, who the players are, and the like.

The fact that almost all the factions are the exact same color does not help IFF. Ditto the fact that KYOTO- the Muromachi district, the jewel of Japanese culture and economics as well as the place that fell the hardest- has 3/4s of its' areas inaccessible. Ditto for that matter the Female choices, since I tried making them only to have more crashes.

I had the idea of fighting to defend Kyoto from the roving warlords with just myself and the handful of heroes, or to seize power for myself. But that falls by the wayside when I have to consistently babysit this mod.

But for what it is worth, I do keep coming back to it. Not in the same way as the Greats of 1866, Star Wars, 1805 II, WWII China, or the countless improved mods for Warband and WF&S. But because I Can tell a massive amount of effort and care was put into this. There's something that draws me back in. It is compelling.

But it feels problematic, to say the least.
