About this video

We come into this world with the expectation of a story, the stories that we'll be told, and the ones we'll write ourselves. All of history is one grand epic tale spanning the course of time, and every day, every path we take, is another page in that great volume. But no matter how much time passes, the pages keep turning, with the promise of new stories to be told and new adventures to go on. The familiar rhythm of the past is joined by a chorus of the new, and a symphony of change unfolds, but some notes stay the same. The story continues, changed, but unending, with new writers penning new pages and new readers hearing the tale for the very first time.

But let's turn the pages back now, back to our humble roots, to the early days of May 2002, when this particular tale began in a land called Morrowind. 18 years ago today, we took our first, stumbling steps upon an alien shore, and began an epic adventure, a story that has been told, and retold, time and time again.

And as we turned each page, we added our own bits to the story, changing some words here, adding some there, and we made that story our own, creating new worlds, designing new adventures, casting new characters, and transforming the old to be new again. Over the last 18 years, we've created a thousand new tales, introduced a thousand new characters, added a thousand new lands, but the story is left forever unfinished, and the pages continue on and on. Our story, the story of Morrowind, the story of the modding community, is still being written, and as long as there are modders to take up the pen, it'll never end.

And so, it seems only appropriate, on this illustrious anniversary of our tale, to once again celebrate Morrowind's 18th anniversary in the best possible fashion, with the 6th Annual Morrowind May Modathon Month Modding Competition! For what better way is there to celebrate this game we all love, this never-ending tale, than to build upon it and make it even greater than ever before?

As always, this year's Modathon is a month-long modding competition for the community. And as always, every participating mod released in May on the Nexus, The Assimilation Lab and GHF will be entered to win a ton of indie and even triple A games from the Morrowind Modding Showcases channel.

But anyway, how can you participate? It's easy, when you go to release your mod on the Nexus or The Assimilation Lab or GHF, just leave a line at the top that says "Part of the May Modathon Month" or if you're uploading on the Nexus, you can use the May Modathon 2020 tag, and you'll automatically be entered to win! And don't worry, if you don't know how to mod, you can check out our Let's Mod Morrowind series to learn a lot of the basics! Every mod has a shot at winning, so why not give it a try!

Remember, this competition only applies to mods released in May! So let's all get modding, and give Morrowind the proper 18th anniversary celebration it so rightfully deserves by making it even better than ever with a ton of new content!
