About this video
It began with a ship, a familiar face, a village on some distant shore, the first stumbling steps upon an alien land, a wide open world filled with mystery, promising adventure with every twist and turn. From creaking towers of rust, to the great swathes of ash, to the peaks of mountains and gold-faced foes, we've explored, we've discovered, we've written our own stories upon the soul and soil of Morrowind.
And yet, nearly a quarter of a century later, far from being finished, the story is still being written. We are still taking our first steps upon new alien lands, arriving on new distant stores, embarking upon new sights, new adventures, new endless discoveries in an endlessly expanding world built and shaped and crafted from our dreams. That wide-open world we first discovered is now wider still, the horizons vast, and though we travel to new distant frontiers, we're still here, still in Morrowind, still writing our story.
In the last 23 years, the Morrowind Modding Community has grown, rebuilt, re-imagined, expanded, and improved this beloved game in every imaginable way, from improved visuals to gameplay mechanics to quests and adventures, new cities and dungeons, and so much more. And far from slowing down with the passing of time, the community has only gotten bigger with age, constantly making the once impossible into new possibilities, new experiences to be had in this amazing game!
And on this, Morrowind's 23rd anniversary, what better way is there to celebrate, to embrace and rejoice in this beautiful game and this amazing community, than to continue to improve and build upon it, making it ever greater, better, and bigger than ever before?
Today, to celebrate Morrowind's 23rd anniversary, I'm pleased to announce the 11th annual Morrowind May Modathon Month Modding Competition. Started in 2015, the Modathons are a month-long celebration of Morrowind's birthday, hosted each year in May with a true modding extravaganza where any and all modders are welcome to participate by releasing new mods for Morrowind on the Nexus!
Starting on May 1st and going through to June 2nd, the Modathon is open to any and all participating mods, and every participating mod released on the Nexus will be entered to win a ton of indie and even AAA games from the Morrowind Modding Showcases channel.
But anyway, how can you participate? It's easy, when you go to release your mod on the Nexus, just leave a line at the top that says "Part of the May Modathon Month" or alternatively, you can use the May Modathon 2025 tag, and you'll automatically be entered to win! And don't worry, if you don't know how to mod, you can check out our Let's Mod Morrowind series to learn a lot of the basics! Every mod has a shot at winning, so why not give it a try!
Remember, this competition only applies to mods released in May! So let's all get modding, and give Morrowind the proper 23rd anniversary celebration it so rightfully deserves by making it even better than ever with a ton of new content!
Long Live Resdayn and the Morrowind Modding Community!

Your game, also, looks the best.
What shaders/ visual enhancement mods are you using to get the game looking so great?

In terms of visual enhancements, I was actually using two separate graphics installs for this video - the OpenMW segments were recorded with Rafael's Shader Pack and OWSE, while the MGE XE/MWSE portions were recorded with my graphics mod list (available in Google Docs here).
