About this video

Very early showcase of a mod I'm tinkering with, heavily inspired by vonwolfe's latest mod. The ambition is to have a framework that makes it simple for modders to add new conversations via configuration files.

      I won't rule it out in the future, but for now I'm focused on MWSE. Does OpenMW have a Lua API that would allow me to port it easily?

    Colour me impressed! Holy Hell!

    I'll admit, I'm still very unsure about AI voicing, for many reasons, but because Morrowind is such an old game, I'm more relaxed about it in this instance..

     Seriously, though, that sample conversation is better than anything I've actually heard in Skyrim. The only Bethesda game where I've seen anything comparable is Fallout 4... Presumably something like this is in Starfield, too, but I haven't played it, so wouldn't know for sure.
    Amazing work!

      This was a nice sample, to be sure, but let's not exaggerate. Skyrim's conversations are quite natural in their inflection and tone, rich in the theatrical range, and in comparison this is still a rather mechanical imitation. I am looking forward for further development of course.

      I'm not sure that I would make the claim that it's better than Skyrim's conversations, but thank you for the praise @Sonja! This was really just a quick'n'dirty sample conversation to show off the system. Hell, I even had ChatGPT write the dialogue itself for convenience's sake :D
      Hopefully, when the base mod itself is finished, people will be able to contribute with way better dialogue than this.

      Oh dear.... When ChatGPT writes better than Bethesda.... Granted, this sort of thing is subjective, and granted, Bethesda isn't exactly known for their nuanced, in depth writing to begin with...but still...

      @Confessoru,
      "rich in the theatrical range"
      Hmm... OK, Skyrim's conversations sound relatively natural. However.... "rich in theatrical range?" If you say so....

      Thanks! Immersion is pretty much the ultimate goal for this project, so I'm glad I'm on the right track :)
